I’ve been following the story closely, and it seems Gege Akutami has made it clear that Yuji Itadori is currently the strongest sorcerer in Japan. By establishing him as the key to holding back the Simurians, the author is showing us that Yuji is the only one capable of taking on someone like Dabura and keeping everyone safe.
