Dead by Daylight Announces Second Stranger Things Crossover

Behaviour Interactive, the team behind Dead by Daylight, has announced a new Stranger Things downloadable content chapter is coming to the game. This makes Stranger Things unique – it’s currently the only franchise, besides Resident Evil, to team up with Dead by Daylight for a second collaboration.

The first set of Stranger Things content for Dead by Daylight was released in September 2019, but it was taken down in 2021 when the licensing agreement ended. Thankfully, it returned to the game in November 2023 and is still available now.

For just $11.99 or 1,500 Auric Cells, Dead by Daylight players can unlock Steve Harrington and Nancy Wheeler, two Survivors based on Stranger Things, along with the Demogorgon as a Killer. Nancy’s special abilities help her team stay aware of danger, while Steve focuses on rescuing himself and others when caught. The Demogorgon can use its power to open portals and quickly move around the map using the Upside Down.

Stranger Things’ Vecna Is Coming to Dead by Daylight

The official Dead by Daylight X account recently shared a 20-second teaser announcing a new Stranger Things DLC. This news comes just after the premiere of Stranger Things Season 5 on Netflix, which launched with its first four episodes on November 26th in the US.

The recent teaser for the Dead by Daylight and Stranger Things crossover strongly suggests that Vecna, the villain from Stranger Things, will be the main addition in the new downloadable content, likely as a playable Killer. It will be fascinating to see how this version of Vecna differs from the Vecna who appeared in Dead by Daylight in June 2024 as part of the Dungeons & Dragons collaboration, since the Stranger Things character is based on the Dungeons & Dragons villain. The Stranger Things Vecna might be unique by emphasizing his psychic and mind-control powers more than the magical abilities of his Dungeons & Dragons counterpart.

If the next Dead by Daylight and Stranger Things collaboration is similar to their first one in 2019, we could see two new Survivors added to the game alongside Vecna. Jim Hopper and Joyce Byers seem like the most probable choices, as the younger characters from Stranger Things probably wouldn’t fit the game’s violent themes. The previous crossover included a map based on the underground lab in Hawkins, so this new chapter might also introduce a new map, potentially inspired by a memorable Stranger Things location like the Creel House or Vecna’s base in the Upside Down.

The next Dead by Daylight and Stranger Things collaboration is expected to launch in January 2026, around the same time the final season of Stranger Things is set to premiere. Because of this timing, we might get a first look at the new downloadable content at The Game Awards 2025. Dead by Daylight has often revealed new content at this event – the ‘Darkness Among Us’ chapter was showcased in 2018, and ‘The Casting of Frank Stone’ was announced at the 2023 show.

For weeks, fans have been guessing about what’s coming in the January 2026 chapter of Dead by Daylight. Rumors have ranged from another collaboration with Stranger Things, to a third Resident Evil chapter, and even a possible crossover with Predator.
