Xbox players have a chance to get a free game that unlocks over 3,000 Gamerscore points with relatively simple achievements. It’s a quick and easy way for Xbox and PC gamers to boost their Gamerscore.
Xbox added a new free-to-play game called Card Storm Idle on November 25th. It’s a card game that combines automatic progress with strategic gameplay. Originally released on Steam in 2023, it’s now available on Xbox consoles and through the Microsoft PC game store for the first time. Earning achievements is fairly easy, though the process isn’t always straightforward.
New Free Game Nets Up to 3,000G in Easy Achievements
To get all 3,000 Gamerscore points in Card Storm Idle, you’ll need to play the game on three different platforms: Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The game normally offers 1,000 points, but because all three versions are free to play, you can combine your progress. Getting the full 3,000G requires access to both an Xbox Series X/S and a PC. Don’t worry, there are only 10 achievements, and they’re all easy to unlock – you can finish them all in under 30 minutes. You’ll simply need to replay the game on each of the three platforms to reach the total. It should take less than two hours to complete all achievements across all systems with minimal effort.
In Card Storm Idle, you build a deck of cards that plays the game for you, letting you relax and watch your progress. You start by clicking to defeat enemies, but as you earn gold and gems, you can unlock cards that boost your damage and automatically fight for you. Achievements start unlocking as soon as you get your first card.
Many games offer challenging achievements, but others are designed for players to quickly earn points. This is especially common with indie titles. For instance, in Smart Moves 2, you can unlock all achievements in just a few minutes by repeating the first levels, defeating easy enemies, and opening chests. Similarly, Butterfly lets players earn 1,000 Gamerscore simply by starting each level – no gameplay required! With the downloadable content, you can even boost that total to 4,000G using the same easy method.
As a Gamerscore hunter, I’m always looking for ways to boost my score without spending a dime! Luckily, there are tons of free games with achievements you can unlock. On Xbox, I’ve found I can easily grab 1,000 to 1,200 Gamerscore just by playing freebies like Aimlabs, Tech Glitch, and Ping Redux. And if you’re a Game Pass subscriber, definitely check out the monthly free games – a lot of them have really easy achievements or ones you can get just by playing normally!
For many gamers, earning achievements is now a big part of the experience, with systems readily available on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. Nintendo games have offered some in-game rewards for completing challenges – like unlocking items in Super Smash Bros. – but they don’t have a unified achievement system like other platforms. Recent reports suggest Nintendo might be planning to add one, though it’s still uncertain if this is true.
