If you love playing games by yourself but also miss the fun and unpredictability of playing with others online, co-op games are perfect for you. 2026 promises to be a great year for these types of games, and we’ve put together a list of the most exciting ones to keep an eye on – add them to your wishlist now!
There’s nothing quite like a well-made co-op game. Whether you’re experiencing the excitement of an action game with a friend, playfully annoying them with loud noises, or bravely facing a horror game together, it offers the best of both worlds. Luckily, there are plenty of fun cooperative games available to play both locally and online.
2026 is shaping up to be an amazing year for games, especially when it comes to playing with friends! Here are eight promising co-op games to watch out for.
Biggest Co-op Games Releasing in 2026
Reanimal

Tarsier Studios, the team behind Little Nightmares, is building a new game called Reanimal. It’s a co-op multiplayer experience set in tight, isolated spaces where players will feel incredibly vulnerable. Think of the tense atmosphere and unsettling style of Little Nightmares, but with more freedom to explore and less strictly guided paths.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight

If you’re a fan of the Arkham games or Batman, mark May 29, 2026, on your calendar! LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight was incredibly impressive at Gamescom 2025 and could be a strong contender for Game of the Year. This game breaks from typical LEGO titles, offering a vast, open-world Gotham City inspired by Arkham City and Arkham Knight, complete with Rocksteady’s signature smooth combat. And the best part? You can team up with a friend for local co-op and fight crime together as a dynamic duo!
Release Date: May 29
The Duskbloods

Many are still surprised that The Duskbloods is only available on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. The new console’s increased power has allowed FromSoftware to create this ambitious game, which features a dark and dangerous world with both player-versus-player and player-versus-environment combat. If you’re feeling hesitant about tackling this challenging action RPG, you’ll be able to team up with another player and rush into battle together.
Release Date: 2026
Halo: Campaign Evolved

343 Industries has announced that the remake of the original Halo: Combat Evolved will take some unexpected turns, offering a fresh experience while staying true to the classic. They’re focusing on a strong single-player campaign, harking back to a time when campaigns were the core of a game, unlike many modern shooters where they feel like an addition. While there won’t be traditional online multiplayer, you can play through the campaign with a friend in co-op!
Release Date: 2026
Pokémon Pokopia

It seems Pokémon is expanding into all areas of gaming – from traditional card games and RPGs to more casual experiences. There’s one type of game that feels like a natural fit, and it’s finally happening: a Pokémon game similar to Animal Crossing. And it’s quite a unique concept! You play as a Ditto that transforms into a human – don’t overthink it! The big question everyone has is whether you can play with friends, and the answer is a definite yes – up to four players can enjoy the game together.
Release Date: March 5
Nioh 3

Many consider Nioh to be the best Soulslike game not created by FromSoftware. The Nioh series, including both Nioh and Nioh 2, often doesn’t receive the recognition it deserves. These games are known for their smooth, fast-paced combat, and the second game builds upon the excellent foundation of the first. While games like Rise of the Ronin and Wo Long offer their own experiences, the world and gameplay of Nioh are truly unique. Soon, players will be able to team up in co-op to face a relentless wave of mythological bosses in an upcoming Nioh 3 release – bosses that will challenge you, let you briefly celebrate, and then try to defeat you again.
Release Date: February 6
Forza Horizon 6

So far, we’ve only seen one trailer for Forza Horizon 6, but it’s clear the game is going to be huge! This time, the game takes place in Japan. While recent games have shown us historical Japan, a modern racing experience with drifting around places like Hokkaido and Tokyo promises to be amazing. If it includes online co-op like the previous game, Forza Horizon 5, it’s sure to be a massive success.
Release Date: 2026
Crashout Crew

Okay, so I’m already hyped for the indie games hitting Steam in 2026. We always get a few that blow up, and last year, REPO and Peak were seriously addictive. The team behind Peak, Aggro Crab, is still supporting that game and they’re working on a new one called Crashout Crew! From what Steam says, it’s a chaotic, online co-op game where up to four of us have to fill orders with physics-based boxes. Basically, it’s a race against the clock, and apparently, safety isn’t a priority – just try not to wreck everything!
Hey TopMob team, just wanted to say this list of co-op games is awesome! If you think I missed any big ones, definitely let me know. I’m also super curious – what co-op games are you guys most hyped about right now? The best way to reach you is through your Discord server, right? I’m already in there!
