This article contains spoilers from the Jujutsu Kaisen anime.
After a long wait, Jujutsu Kaisen is back for its third season, and fans are thrilled to see what happens next in this amazing story created by Gege Akutami. Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen was exceptional, and many consider it one of the best anime series currently being made.
A major turning point in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 happened when Gojo Satoru, the show’s strongest character, was sealed away, leaving everyone vulnerable. Though Gojo dominated the first half of the season, the plot shifted and he was removed from the story using a technique called Prison Realm.
Gojo’s imprisonment was a crucial turning point in the story, leading to thrilling fights like Yuji’s battle with Choso and even larger conflicts against opponents like Mahito. Despite these exciting developments, fans still deeply miss Gojo Satoru. Everyone is eagerly hoping for his return, and it’s widely expected that he will eventually reappear. In fact, it’s been officially confirmed that Gojo Satoru will return at the end of Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen, which is fantastic news for all fans.
Gojo Satoru Was Sealed During The Shibuya Incident

- The Prison Realm Was Key To Sealing Gojo
As a huge Jujutsu Kaisen fan, I was absolutely floored when Gojo Satoru got sealed! Seriously, Gojo is considered the strongest sorcerer ever right now, and the gap between his power and everyone else’s is just massive. That’s why seeing him taken down the way he was was such a shock – nobody really saw that coming!
This really highlights Kenjaku’s intelligence. He expertly manipulated events in Shibuya, tiring Gojo out and then catching him off guard, ultimately succeeding in sealing him away – a move that stunned fans.
Throughout heaven and earth, I alone am the honored one.” — Gojo Satoru
Gojo being sealed was crucial to the story at that point. If he’d been present during the Shibuya incident, it would have been over almost instantly. Gojo was so overwhelmingly powerful that no one in Shibuya could have challenged him, and the conflict would have quickly ended with him winning easily, making for a disappointing story arc.
Removing Gojo from the story was essential to allow other characters’ arcs to develop. For example, Nanami’s storyline likely wouldn’t have reached a conclusion if Gojo had still been present. Similarly, Yuji wouldn’t have consumed as many fingers if Gojo had been involved in the Shibuya incident. Ultimately, Gojo’s sealing was a necessary plot device for the author to move the story forward, and it’s a key reason why the narrative is currently so compelling.
Despite recent events, it’s important to remember that Gojo’s current situation isn’t permanent. He’s too powerful to be defeated so easily, and his return was always expected. Manga readers already know when he’ll reappear, and Season 3 suggests that moment is coming soon. Gojo’s comeback is near, and fans are eagerly anticipating his next move.
Gojo Satoru Will Be Unsealed At The End Of JJK Season 3
- The Culling Game Will See Gojo’s Return
- Gojo’s Students Rise to the Occasion
Many viewers are eager to know when Gojo Satoru will reappear in JJK. The answer is straightforward: he’ll return towards the end of the third season, after the Culling Game has begun to reach its climax. Considering how many manga chapters each episode will likely cover, and knowing which story arcs will be included in Season 3, it’s reasonable to expect Gojo’s return near the season finale. This will be exciting for fans and will also pave the way for major developments in the series.
I care about everyone and I’m no longer lonely. But at some point, I realized I was setting boundaries, not as a person, but simply as a living being. You can nurture a flower and appreciate its beauty, but you can’t expect it to understand you. — Gojo Satoru to Suguru Geto, Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 236
Now that Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen (JJK) has finished, the story is moving into its final act. While JJK is a relatively short series overall, the upcoming conclusion promises to be a thrilling and chaotic experience for fans, with Gojo playing a central part in the events to come.
Gojo’s Return Is Crucial For Jujutsu Kaisen
As many fans know, Gojo Satoru is considered the most powerful sorcerer of his time, so it was inevitable he’d return during the story’s biggest conflicts. He’s central to Jujutsu Kaisen, and his presence is crucial when the greatest threats emerge. Gojo acts as the best defense for the sorcerers of Japan, which makes him a compelling character to watch. Plus, there are still several storylines involving Gojo that need to be concluded, and fans are eager to see what the author has planned for him in the anime.
A Major Gojo Battle Is Coming
As the story progresses in Jujutsu Kaisen, fans anticipating the manga spoilers know a huge showdown is coming: a fight between Gojo and Sukuna. This battle was hinted at way back in the first season, and viewers have been excited for it ever since. While manga readers already know what happens, anime-only fans are likely unfamiliar with the details. Either way, seeing this fight animated promises to be amazing.
It looks like the epic fight between Gojo and Sukuna won’t be included in the upcoming third season of Jujutsu Kaisen. However, once Gojo returns after being unsealed, the season will likely build up to this huge battle. This is set to be the biggest fight in the series, and many fans are hoping it will be adapted into a movie at some point. While details are still scarce, hopefully the fight will be everything fans are expecting.
The third season of Jujutsu Kaisen is now airing, adapting the Culling Game arc. The story picks up after Gojo Satoru’s sealing during the Shibuya Incident. This season will be split into two parts with a short pause in between. Episode 3 is scheduled to premiere on January 15, 2026, at 9:00 AM Pacific Time, and at 5:00 PM in the UK. For those interested in more, a sequel manga called Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is also being released, taking place 68 years after the original story ends. You can read new chapters for free on Manga Plus and the Shonen Jump app.
