While Animal Crossing: New Horizons takes place in a beautiful tropical setting, players will still need to earn money. They’ll need to repay a loan to Tom Nook for their house, and also save up to buy things like clothes and furniture.
Players can sell tons of items at Nook’s Cranny to earn Bells in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but some are much more profitable than others. This article highlights the best items to sell if you’re looking to quickly make a lot of Bells.
Hot Items
Timmy and Tommy at Nook’s Cranny change the daily hot item sign every day. This item can be crafted and they’ll buy it from players for twice the usual price. While sometimes the hot item is inexpensive and not worth the effort, when it’s something valuable that takes rare materials to make, players can earn a lot of bells by crafting and quickly selling it to them.
Players can now easily get rid of unwanted resources taking up space and earn money at the same time. The new multicrafting feature in the Animal Crossing 3.0 update makes this even simpler, eliminating the need to repeatedly confirm each craft.
Fossils

Even after you’ve completed the fossil collection at the museum, fossils will still appear on your island. It might seem pointless to dig them up once you’ve found all the types, but don’t skip them! Some fossils are actually worth a lot of Bells, and you can make a good profit by selling them to Nook’s Cranny after Blathers identifies them.
You can donate fossils to KK Slider even if you haven’t finished filling the museum – many players end up with duplicates, or prefer to hold onto their first finds. However, once the museum is complete, it’s easy to forget about donating to KK Slider, as it’s no longer a regular part of gameplay.
If you’re looking to earn Bells quickly in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, keep digging up fossils! Even the cheapest fossils sell for 1,000 Bells, while the most valuable can fetch 6,000 Bells. This means you can make between 3,000 and 18,000 Bells each day just by identifying them. You can also save fossils and assess them all at once to speed things up, but you won’t get the money immediately.
DIY Shell and Mermaid Items

Throughout the day, you’ll find shells washing up on your beaches. While you can sell these shells directly for some Bells, you’ll earn even more by crafting them into furniture and decorations from the Shell series using a workbench. These crafted items sell for between 600 and 12,360 Bells.
If you’ve collected Pearls by diving, you can use shells to craft Mermaid-themed items, which are worth more than 20,000 Bells.
Non-Native Fruit
When you begin a new island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, it’s a smart idea to plant plenty of fruit trees that don’t grow naturally there. Fruits native to your island only sell for 100 Bells, but those from other islands fetch a much better price – 500 Bells each! You can get these non-native fruits by visiting mystery islands or trading with friends who have different native fruits. Just plant one fruit, and after about four days, it will grow into a tree with three more!
Players can get three new fruits from each fruit they harvest, and sell them for a combined 1,500 Bells. Since you can carry up to 9 fruits per inventory slot and have 40 slots for fruit, you can sell 360 fruits at once, earning 180,000 Bells. Because these fruits are essentially free to obtain, it’s a simple way to make a lot of money. The larger your fruit orchard, the more trips you can make to Nook’s Cranny, and the more profit you’ll earn.
When visiting friends in Animal Crossing, it’s a good idea to bring plenty of your home fruit. Since it’s considered a rare item at their town’s shop, you can sell it for 500 Bells – a much higher price than in your own town!
Sea Creatures

Lots of players hold onto their bugs and fish to sell them to Flick and CJ when they come to town, because they offer much higher prices. However, unlike bugs and fish, there isn’t a special character in New Horizons who always pays more for sea creatures. Because of this, it’s a good idea to suit up and go diving whenever you can to find and sell them!
Players can collect as many of these fish as they like and sell them to Timmy and Tommy without any fees. To maximize their earnings on each trip, players should empty their inventory by leaving all tools behind.
Fishermen can keep fishing all night because there are always creatures in the sea. Even if they don’t make as much money, they can leave their catch at Nook’s Cranny and get paid the next morning.
Gold or Blue Rose Wreath
In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Blue Roses and Gold Roses are the most expensive flowers you can sell, each worth 1,000 Bells. Once your island reaches 5 stars, you’ll unlock the recipe for the Gold Watering Can. Using this can on Black Roses gives you a chance to grow Gold Roses. You can get Black Roses by simply planting two regular roses close together and watering them.
You can also get Blue Roses by breeding two Hybrid Red Roses. While this takes more steps and time, it’s possible to do before you unlock the Gold Watering Can. To get Hybrid Red Roses, you’ll first need to breed a White Rose with an Orange Rose. White Roses are naturally occurring, but to get an Orange Rose, you have to breed a Yellow Rose with a regular Red Rose.
Players can easily earn 10,000 Bells by selling ten Blue or Gold Roses. But, if they know how to make Blue or Gold Rose Wreaths, they can actually earn twice as much!
Selling a wreath of 10 Gold Roses or 10 Blue Roses earns you 20,000 Bells, and it’s almost pure profit because you can easily grow more flowers to make another one a few days later.
