You can find Porygon, Porygon2, and Porygon-Z in the Mega Dimension DLC for Pokemon Legends: Z-A. They appear in special areas called Hyperspace Wild Zones that are filled with Normal-type Pokemon. If you want to complete the Hyperspace Pokedex or add these strong special attackers to your team, it’s helpful to know where to find them.
Porygon is fairly easy to find early in the game, but evolving it is more challenging. You’ll either need to progress quite far into the game or trade it to another player to get its evolved forms. Here’s how it works:
How to Get Porygon in Pokemon Legends: Z-A
There’s a possibility you’ll find a Hyperspace Wild Zone with Normal-type Pokémon that has a Porygon inside. You can check if a Hyperspace Distortion contains a Porygon by looking at its silhouette, which is shown in the image above.
In Legends: Z-A, Hyperspace Wild Zones refresh daily, letting players quickly find specific Pokémon like Porygon. By repeatedly changing the time of day using a bench in Lumiose City, players can force the game to reroll these zones until a Hyperspace with Porygon appears.
How to Get Porygon2 in Pokemon Legends: Z-A
There are three ways to obtain a Porygon2 in Legends: Z-A.
- Side Mission 167: Porygon’s Polygon Count
- Use an Upgrade Obtained From 4★ or 5★ Hyperspace Zones To Trade Evolve Porygon
- 5★ Hyperspace Wild Zones containing Normal-type Pokemon
Side Mission 167: Porygon’s Polygon Count
- How to Unlock: Side Mission 167: Porygon’s Polygon Count unlocks after players have started Hyperspace Mission 9 (Hyperspace Lumiose Survey No. 5).
Head to Bleu Sector 6 and speak with Trian. He’ll want to trade Porygon with you. Catch a Porygon in a 3-star Hyperspace Wild Zone and bring it to him. When you trade, he’ll give you a Porygon holding an item that causes it to evolve as soon as you receive it.
Use an Upgrade Obtained from Hyperspace Wild Zones
Okay, so when I’m hitting up those 4- and 5-star Hyperspace Wild Zones, sometimes I’ll find really cool trade items floating in Poke Balls – like an Upgrade! If I want to boost my chances of snagging these rare goodies, I need to craft a donut with the ‘Item Power: Special’ and specifically a Sour flavor. It’s a bit of a recipe, but totally worth it for the extra loot!
The trade code for a Porygon holding an Upgrade is 0011 0011 or 0137-0137.
5★ Hyperspace Wild Zones (Normal-type)
After completing the main story of the Mega Dimension DLC, special 5-Star Hyperspace Wild Zones will appear, featuring Normal-type Pokémon. You can find Porygon, Porygon2, and Porygon-Z within these zones.
How to Get Porygon-Z in Pokemon Legends: Z-A
There are three ways to obtain a Porygon-Z in Legends: Z-A.
- Side Mission 167: Porygon’s Polygon Count
- Use a Dubious Disc Obtained From 4★ or 5★ Hyperspace Zones To Trade Evolve Porygon2
- 5★ Hyperspace Wild Zones containing Normal-type Pokemon
Side Mission 167: Porygon’s Polygon Count
- How to Unlock: Side Mission 167: Porygon’s Polygon Count unlocks after players have started Hyperspace Mission 9 (Hyperspace Lumiose Survey No. 5).
Once you get a Porygon2 from Trian during Side Mission 167 (see details above), a special 1-Star Hyperspace Zone will open up in the Bleu Sector 5 Underground area. Use a basic Donut to enter this zone. Inside, simply talk to Trian, and he’ll give you a Dubious Disc as a reward.
As a Pokémon fan, I was so excited to learn about the Dubious Disc! It’s a special item you need to evolve Porygon2 into the awesome Porygon-Z. Basically, you have to trade Porygon2 while it’s holding the Dubious Disc – you can do this locally with a friend or trade online. It’s a bit of a process, but totally worth it to get your hands on a Porygon-Z!
The trade code for a Porygon2 holding a Dubious Disc is 0012-0012 or 0233-0233.
Use a Dubious Disc Obtained from Hyperspace Wild Zones
When exploring 4- and 5-Star Hyperspace Wild Zones, you might find rare trade items—like a Dubious Disc—inside floating Poke Balls. To improve your chances of finding these items, make a donut with the Special Flavor Power (Sour).
5★ Hyperspace Wild Zones (Normal-type)
After completing the main story of the Mega Dimension DLC, special 5-Star Hyperspace Wild Zones will appear, featuring Normal-type Pokémon. You can find Porygon, Porygon2, and Porygon-Z in these zones.
