Amazon Reveals First Look At Lara Croft in Upcoming Tomb Raider Series

I’m so excited about the recent news surrounding Tomb Raider! Not only are we getting one new game, but two – Tomb Raider: Catalyst and Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis! Everyone’s buzzing about them, and honestly, it feels like there’s so much more to look forward to as a Lara Croft fan than just these games.

I’m so excited to share that Amazon is actually making a Tomb Raider TV show! It was announced last year, and it’s going to star Sophie Turner – yes, Sansa from Game of Thrones – as Lara Croft. We just got our first glimpse of her as Lara, and she looks amazing! I can’t wait to see it.

Sophie Turner Looks Fantastic As Lara In Amazon’s Tomb Raider TV Series

Amazon’s upcoming Tomb Raider series is still in the early stages of development, so not much is known about it yet. However, Amazon recently shared the first official image of Sophie Turner dressed as Lara Croft. The outfit – including the shorts, signature dual pistols, and sunglasses – is sure to thrill fans.

As a huge fan of the Tomb Raider games, I remember everyone buzzing about who would play Lara Croft. For a long time, Lucy Boynton seemed like the frontrunner, but ultimately, Sophie Turner landed the part. And honestly? She looks amazing as Lara. It feels like a perfect fit, and I was really relieved they didn’t rush the casting process.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the acclaimed writer and actress known for projects like Fleabag, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, and The Iron Lady, is co-running the upcoming Amazon series Tomb Raider alongside Chad Hodge. With such a talented team involved, and more impressive cast members already confirmed, the series promises to be exceptional.

Meet The Incredible Cast Of Amazon’s Tomb Raider Series

Sophie Turner will star alongside Sigourney Weaver (known for her role in Avatar) in the upcoming TV series. Weaver will play Evelyn Wallis, a new character described as a secretive and ambitious woman who wants to take advantage of Lara Croft’s skills. Jason Isaacs will also appear as Atlas DeMornay, Lara Croft’s uncle.

The cast of the Tomb Raider TV series continues to grow! Bill Paterson will play Winston, the cherished butler of Croft’s family. Martin Bobb-Semple joins as Zip, a tech expert and friend to Croft. Rounding out the cast are Sasha Luss, John Heffernan, Juliette Motamed, Celia Imrie, Paterson Joseph, and Jack Bannon.

With support from Amazon MGM Studios and Crystal Dynamics, and a lot of excitement from fans, this show has the potential to be a long-running hit. However, filming for the first season just started, so we’ll have to wait before we know when it will be released.
