Where To Find All Treasure Chests In Canalta Timberland In Monster Hunter Stories 3

Finding a treasure chest is always exciting, and in Monster Hunter Stories 3, you’ll immediately wonder what’s inside, who put it there, and how it ended up in such a strange place. The game is full of these intriguing mysteries.

You can find lots of these in the Canalta Timberland and surrounding areas. We’re specifically looking for the bright blue ones, and they always appear in the same spots. Let’s go find them!

Canalta Timberland Main Map Treasure Chest Locations

In the main map of the Canalta Timberland, there are at least 20 treasure chests to be found.

Treasure chests are sometimes hidden beneath mineral deposits, so if you don’t see a chest, try breaking the ore nearby.

  • Treasure Chest #1

    • Graceful Death Recipe

    On the land above the waterfall where the river splits in the Cataracts region.

  • Treasure Chest #2

    • Epitaph Blade Recipe

    You’ll find an aggressive Arzuros at the southernmost point of Blessing Hill, near the river.

  • Treasure Chest #3

    • Darkness Resistance (S)

    On a large fallen tree that crosses a gap overlooking the valley, located just south of the Mt. Canalta Caravan Stop.

  • Treasure Chest #4

    • Instigator (S)

    Directly north of the Cataracts camp, on a small piece of land that the water flows arounds.

  • Treasure Chest #5

    • Thunder Attack Boost (S)

    On a hill overlooking the river north of Blessing Hill, to the northwest of Blessing Hill Camp.

  • Treasure Chest #6

    • Cawscythe Recipe

    At the foot of a massive tree in the southwest corner of Blessing Hill.

  • Treasure Chest #7

    • Critical (S)

    Southwest of the Mt. Canalta Lookout Tower, atop a tall spire.

  • Treasure Chest #8

    • Antiparalysis (S)

    Right in the middle of the map, you’ll find it on top of a tall tower. You’ll need a Monstie that can climb to get up there.

  • Treasure Chest #9

    • Slugger (S)

    You’ll find the Howlinyowl Forest Catavan Stand along the trail as you ascend Mt. Canalta, a bit southeast of Lookout Point.

  • Treasure Chest #10

    • Partner (S)

    Directly south of the Howlinyowl Forest Lookout Point, buried underneath an ore deposit.

  • Treasure Chest #11

    • Insomniac (S)

    Found on an outcropping of land near the northernmost point of Mt. Canalta.

  • Treasure Chest #12

    • Wailing Ghost Recipe

    Located on a rocky area close to the top of Mt. Canalta, just a bit north of the Mt. Canalta Catavan Stand.

  • Treasure Chest #13

    • Ice Attack Boost (S)

    You’ll find this area deep within a cave system, home to the Invasive Ceanataur. To get there, follow the river north on the west side of Howlinyowl Forest until you reach a waterfall – the entrance is behind it.

  • Treasure Chest #14

    • Salt In Wound (S)

    In the south section of Blessing Hill, on the high land on the east side of the river.

  • Treasure Chest #15

    • Blightproof (S)

    You can find a tall spire south of the Mt. Canalta Catavan Stand. To get there, you’ll need to fly to it from a higher elevation.

  • Treasure Chest #16

    • Antivenom (S)

    Continuing south from the Mt. Canalta Catavan Stand, you’ll find it on a rock extending out from the waterfall.

  • Treasure Chest #17

    • Fortify (S)

    Northwest of the peak of Mt. Canalta, on a ledge along the mountain.

  • Treasure Chest #18

    • Fire Defense Boost (S)

    At the very north edge of the Mt. Canalta region, at the very lowest level likely near Monster Dens.

  • Treasure Chest #19

    • Evasion Ability (S)

    In the Mt. Canalta region, north of the Mt. Canalta Catavan Stand, there’s a small rocky area on the mountainside.

  • Treasure Chest #20

    • Kinship SKill+ (S)

    You’ll find the chest south of Blessing Hill, a little north of the Blessing Hill Caravan Stand. It’s on top of a steep hill, and the easiest way to get there is by gliding from the area east of the Invasive Monster.

Dragonreach Mountains Treasure Chests Locations

There is just a single treasure chest for you to find in the Dragonreach Mountains.

  • Treasure Chest #1

    • Vital Essence

    You’ll find this item immediately before the area’s boss fight, making it very hard to overlook.

Narrow Passage Treasure Chests Locations

There are three treasure chests to be found in total in the Dragonreach Mountains.

  • Treasure Chest #1

    • Gunhammer Recipe

    In the southeast corner of Narrow Passage, opposite the side you enter the area from.

  • Treasure Chest #2

    • Zest Pill x5

    The Encroachment starts near the northwest corner of Narrow Passage. You’ll likely find a Somnacanth in the area as well.

  • Treasure Chest #3

    • Stamina Boost (S)

    You can find this in a hidden area accessed by diving into the ground at the end of a path on the west side of the map.
