Aphelion Release Date Officially Confirmed for 2026

As they do every year, GamesRadar+ held their Future Games Show: Spring Showcase 2026 this Thursday, March 12th. The event featured a lot of exciting news, including brand new trailers and the latest information on games coming out soon.

A key announcement revealed the release date for Aphelion, the upcoming sci-fi game from DON’T NOD. The studio is well-known for popular titles like Life is Strange, Jusant, and Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, among others.

The Mission to Persephone Begins This April

Good news for fans! DON’T NOD has announced that their game, Aphelion, will be released on April 28, 2026, for PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S. Get ready to mark your calendars!

A new trailer for the game, called “Persephone,” was released along with the announcement of its release date. The trailer shows more of the story and gameplay, which appears to be a large-scale adventure where players take on the role of an astronaut investigating a strange alien planet.

The trailer tells a story of Earth becoming uninhabitable, but a newly discovered planet called Persephone offers a chance for humanity’s survival. To determine if Persephone can be a new home, the European Space Agency sends the ship Hope 01 on a research mission, crewed by their two most skilled astronauts, Ariane and Thomas.

Ariane crash-lands on a strange, icy planet and needs to find her injured teammate. Players will guide her through a sci-fi adventure full of action, exploration, tricky terrain, and moments requiring stealth. It’s a challenging journey across a world where things aren’t always what they seem.

DON’T NOD announced today that their game, Aphelion, will launch on April 28, 2026, for PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.

The developers of the new game, Persephone, call it humanity’s last hope and say it’s the reason players will journey across the universe. It seems to be their most complex and expansive game yet.

I really loved how much gameplay there was in DON’T NOD’s titles like Jusant, especially the climbing, and I still think Vampyr is one of the best vampire games ever made. So, I’m super hyped to see what they come up with in Persephone!

Aphelion is already available for pre-order now, and it will be a day-one launch on Game Pass.
