How to Get Satintail Root in Crimson Desert (Village of the Sick)

In the game Crimson Desert, the quest “Village of the Sick” takes place in the southwestern Sunset Valley. Players must find a Satintail Root to cure the villagers who are sick. The local healer points players to a large area north of the village where the root grows, but the game doesn’t show what a Satintail Root looks like, which can make it hard to find. Here’s a guide to help you get one.

In Crimson Desert, Satintail Root is a type of tall, green grass easily identified by its white top. You can find it growing in small groups within forests, especially around Sunset Valley. Keep an eye out for patches of green grass with white tops in open areas.

During the ‘Village of the Sick’ quest, the game directs you to a large area north of Sunset Valley to find Satintail Root. However, most of this area is empty – I only discovered a small patch of it growing in the very north of the designated zone, under some large trees.

To find a Satintail Root, go to the field of white-topped grass and look for the tallest stalk. Usually, there’s only one root per patch, and it’s almost always the highest one.

Once you’ve collected the Satintail Root, go back to Freidis, the healer in Sunset Valley, to give her the herb. This will finish the Village of the Sick quest. You’ll be rewarded with a Rattan Shield (Refinement Level 2), +30 Hernandian Contribution EXP, and a Medium Bag which adds 3 extra inventory slots.
