Okay, so Capcom just totally surprised us! They dropped a new DLC for Resident Evil Requiem called “Leon Kennedy Must Die Forever.” It’s a new game mode, and honestly, as a returning player, I’m super excited to jump back in. The best part? It’s available on all platforms right now!
For years, the Resident Evil series has included extra gameplay modes and stories, such as the popular The Mercenaries, where players battle waves of enemies against the clock using different characters. There have also been downloadable story expansions, like ‘Not a Hero’ in Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. Now that Resident Evil Requiem has been out for a few months, it’s starting to get its own additional side missions.
Resident Evil Requiem Shadow Drops Leon Must Die Forever Mode
The popular fan-made game, Resident Evil Requiem, has been updated to version 1.300.000 and includes a new free downloadable content pack called “Leon Must Die Forever.” Inspired by the Ethan Must Die mode in Resident Evil 7, this mode challenges players to survive as Leon against some of the game’s most difficult enemies. However, unlike Ethan Must Die, “Leon Must Die Forever” is a roguelike experience where players must navigate twenty levels without dying, starting on Main Street and fighting through waves of enemies in Raccoon City, ultimately facing bosses like The Commander, Super Tyrant, and Victor. To unlock the DLC, players must first finish the game’s main story.

I’m really excited about the new DLC! From what I’ve read, Leon gets these awesome abilities you can unlock to make him even more powerful – things like boosting his weapons and making his hatchet last longer. To get through the levels, you’ll need to find these glowing doors, but be warned – the enemies get tougher and tougher the further you go. It’s a roguelike, so if you die, you start all over, which means you really have to think about what upgrades you choose and how you approach each area. The cool thing is, you can use points you earned in the main game to help pick your starting weapon, and you get boosts just by fighting enemies and clearing out areas. It sounds like a lot of fun, but also pretty challenging!
This new game mode isn’t the story expansion or character reunions that Resident Evil: Requiem fans have been hoping for, but it should still be enjoyable. It features 11 challenges with a roguelike structure, meaning each playthrough will be different, offering good replay value for players who like random challenges and optimizing their builds. While it doesn’t advance the main Resident Evil story, it’s a fun way for fans of Leon’s action gameplay in Resident Evil: Requiem to pass the time.

Capcom’s Resident Evil Requiem has been a hit, successfully blending the gameplay of two very different characters. However, the game left some questions unanswered, such as who Leon S. Kennedy is married to. Fans are also wondering if the character Grace will return in a future Resident Evil title, or if she’ll be phased out like other supporting characters in the series. Fortunately, with the developers still working on story-based downloadable content, it’s likely some of these questions will eventually be addressed.
