New Gen Anime Just As Good As Jujutsu Kaisen

Many consider Jujutsu Kaisen to be one of the best anime currently airing. It’s based on a popular manga by Gege Akutami, and quickly became a hit after its first season premiered in 2019. Viewers were immediately drawn to the show’s impressive animation and engaging story.

I’m so thrilled with how popular Jujutsu Kaisen has become! The anime really boosted the manga, and it’s now one of the best-selling series ever – which is amazing! But honestly, while I absolutely love Jujutsu Kaisen, there are a ton of other newer anime out there that are just as fantastic and deserve all the hype too.

8. My Hero Academia

  • Main Protagonist: Midoriya Izuku

My Hero Academia has helped make superhero anime more popular. It’s a well-written story with fantastic characters, and it stands out for having one of the strongest endings in recent shonen anime.

My Hero Academia tells the story of Izuku Midoriya, a boy born without any superpowers. Despite this, he dreams of becoming a professional hero just like his idol, All Might. One day, his luck changes, and he finally gets the chance he’s been waiting for.

7. Black Clover

  • Main Protagonist: Asta

It’s a common criticism that Black Clover copies ideas from Naruto, but that’s a misunderstanding. Like many action-packed anime, it shares a few similarities, but it also features a really original and interesting magic system that sets it apart.

I’m totally hooked on Black Clover! It follows Asta, a really determined orphan who wants to be the greatest wizard of them all – the Wizard King! The catch? He can’t use any magic, which is a huge problem in a world where magic is everything. It’s such a fun premise!

6. Demon Slayer

  • Main Protagonist: Kamado Tanjiro

Demon Slayer is a truly exceptional modern anime, standing alongside giants like Naruto, One Piece, and Dragon Ball in terms of popularity and impact. With over 200 million copies sold, it’s become one of the best-selling anime series of all time.

Demon Slayer takes place in a world where demons prey on humans. Tanjiro and his family lived peacefully in the forest, but their lives were shattered when a demon attacked, killing most of them. Only Tanjiro’s young sister survived, though she was transformed into a demon herself. Determined to save her, Tanjiro embarks on a journey to find a way to restore her humanity.

5. Solo Leveling

  • Main Protagonist: Sung Jinwoo

Besides Jujutsu Kaisen, Solo Leveling is one of the best new anime when it comes to thrilling action. A-1 Pictures has created a truly stunning show with action scenes that are sure to impress.

Solo Leveling follows Sung Jinwoo, a man whose life is forever altered by a mysterious event known as the Double Dungeon Incident. He awakens with incredible abilities as a Hunter, and quickly finds himself needing to keep his powers a secret.

4. Chainsaw Man

  • Main Protagonist: Denji

Tatsuki Fujimoto is a highly acclaimed creator known for works like Goodbye Eri, Look Back, and especially Chainsaw Man. Of all his stories, Chainsaw Man – the one about a boy and a devil – has become the most popular.

Let me tell you about Chainsaw Man – it’s seriously awesome! It follows Denji, a really unlucky kid whose only friend is this little devil named Pochita. Things get bad for Denji – he’s betrayed and left for dead. But then Pochita steps in and, in a shocking twist, saves him! It’s not just a rescue, though; Pochita actually brings Denji back to life, but with some incredible new abilities. It’s a wild ride from there, trust me!

3. Dandadan

  • Main Protagonists: Ayase Momo and Okarun

Dandadan is winning over audiences with its exciting blend of action and humor. It features fantastic fight scenes, but doesn’t sacrifice a well-developed story for them. A key to the show’s popularity is its two main characters and how skillfully the author writes them.

Dandadan takes place in a world shared by Japanese spirits called Yokai, aliens, and humans, where these groups frequently cross paths. The story follows Momo Ayase and Okarun, two people fascinated by the supernatural. Their curiosity leads them to investigate a strange place, and they quickly find themselves caught up in something much bigger than they expected.

2. Oshi no Ko

  • Main Protagonists: Ruby and Aqua

Few recent anime series handle dramatic storytelling as effectively as Oshi no Ko. Adapted from Aka Akasaka’s manga, the show has quickly become influential, particularly with its distinctive character designs and original plot.

Oshi no Ko tells the story of two individuals reincarnated as the children of a popular idol, Ai Kano. Their lives are disrupted when they embark on a quest to find the person who killed someone they cared about deeply.

1. Sakamoto Days

  • Main Protagonist: Sakamoto Taro

The initial release of the Sakamoto Days anime received a lot of criticism, but the studio J.C. Staff gradually showed they were capable of creating a faithful and well-made adaptation.

Sakamoto Days centers around Taro Sakamoto, a former hitman who was once feared by all. Though he’s retired, many people aren’t happy about it and keep sending assassins to try and kill him, disrupting his peaceful life.
