The Boys: Homelander is Officially Unbeatable

Throughout its five seasons, Homelander in The Boys has proven nearly impossible to defeat. Every attempt to stop him has failed, and often made him even more powerful. After the latest failed plan, he seems to have gained another power boost, making it hard for viewers to see how Butcher will finally defeat him as the series comes to an end. The final battle will showcase Homelander at his most powerful and dangerously unstable.

In the sixth episode of The Boys season 5, Soldier Boy unexpectedly convinced Bombsight, who had the V1 compound, to give up his immortality and enjoy a limited life with his partner. Soldier Boy argued that Bombsight’s powers were a burden, and in exchange for handing over the V1, he promised him a peaceful final chapter. However, Soldier Boy then shockingly gave the V1 to Homelander, who consumed it and became immune to the supe virus, gaining immortality. This leaves Butcher’s team with no remaining way to defeat Homelander, ending on a tense cliffhanger.

Homelander Has The Ultimate Offensive And Defensive Powers

Homelander is incredibly powerful, possessing flight, immense strength, enhanced senses, and heat vision capable of destroying anything. He’s now even stronger, seemingly gaining increased powers, immunity to the virus, and immortality. To make matters worse, Soldier Boy is firmly on his side. While The Boys are a strong team, and now have Sister Sage’s help, it’s hard to imagine them being able to defeat such a formidable opponent.

Currently, the most likely way to defeat Homelander is with the radiation power that can neutralize supes, like Soldier Boy’s. However, recent episodes suggest he might not fight his son, and by Season 5, Episode 7, it’s clear he won’t. Kimiko could become the team’s last hope by replicating Soldier Boy’s ability, bypassing the need for a father-son confrontation. While this would be a sensible way to balance the odds, knowing ‘The Boys’, it’s equally possible Homelander will be defeated in a completely unexpected way.

Butcher’s Worst Nightmare Has Come True

Billy unexpectedly lost the fight for V1. He tried to use Geisha as bait to lure out Bombsight, but ironically, Soldier Boy handled things in a surprisingly reasonable way. With only two members left in The Seven, Homelander is now poised to face Billy. The situation looks dire for The Boys – Frenchie is dead, and the young heroes from Gen V aren’t strong enough to defeat Homelander. Next week’s series finale of The Boys will determine the fate of everything.
