Hotori is a powerful character in Neverness to Everness, available through limited-time events. She excels at quickly dealing a lot of damage and also provides support to her team. What makes Hotori stand out is her ability to both boost allies and inflict damage, plus she has a special time-stopping ability that no other character in the game possesses.
Hotori Kit Overview in NTE
Before diving into Hotori’s optimal Arcs, Cartridges, stats, and team compositions, it’s crucial to understand how she functions. Hotori excels at both dealing significant burst damage and boosting her team, thanks to her special energy system called Non-Closed Timepiece. This system powers her skill, Present Replay, and her ultimate ability, World’s Tide.
Hotori Esper Abilities
Present Replay lets Hotori record her allies’ Support and Redirect abilities. When activated, it inflicts Cosmos damage and captures those skills for the following 5 seconds.
After using this ability, quickly switch to another ally and use their skill before the timer expires. This is especially useful for characters like Jiuyuan, as it complements abilities like Rose Pact Bullets.
To ensure everyone is only counted once, please record each teammate for a maximum of three times.
Hotori’s most powerful attacks happen during her World’s Tide ability. Once her energy is full, she can briefly stop time. Essentially, this ultimate attack deals special ‘Cosmos’ damage, replays her previously used skills, and then lets her attack with her katana.
When Hotori enters her Katana stance, she’s locked in for 10 seconds and can only attack with her katana. If she lands enough katana attacks during this time, she’ll finish with a powerful Finisher attack that deals significant damage.
Life Skills
Okay, so Hotori’s main thing is Treasure Hunt. Basically, it lets you find more stuff at auction and refresh the listings more often if things aren’t selling. It’s not a game-changer, but it definitely helps if you’re trying to grind out those Covetous Coins to upgrade the Blind Mammon furniture – trust me, I’m trying to do that right now!
Hotori Best Arcs in NTE
| Arc – Solid | Details |
| Marching Beyond Time | Hitori’s Signature and limited S-Rank Arc. This is her best one, and gives Crit Rate and Attack. It directly interacts with her kit by giving Wastetime, a stacking buff, to allies. This stacks to three, and each stack increases Hotori’s Ultimate Crit Damage after she uses her ultimate. If all three stacks are consumed, it also grants extra Defense Ignore for a duration. |
| Fluff of Fearlessness | This is the Battles Pass S-Rank Arc, and gives Crit Rate and ATK. It increases ATK by 25% for 10 seconds after the user casts an Ultimate, and the effect does not stack. This plays well into Hotori’s burst damage. |
| Blow up the Crowd | This is an S-Rank Arc that you can get from the Beat King boss. It is more suited for Haniel because of the bonus to Psyche Damage, but can work as a F2P option for Hotori because of the bonuses to ATK. |
Hotori Best Console Build in NTE
Hotori can be built in a few different ways depending on how you want to play her. You can maximize her overall damage output, focus on boosting her support capabilities like Blossom, or create a balanced build that combines both.
Best Cartridges for Hotori in NTE
| Cartridge | Effect |
| Lost Radiance | 2-piece: Cosmos DMG +10% 4-Piece: Ignores 25% of enemies’ DEF for 20s after the wearer casts Ultimate. The effect does not stack. |
| Speedy Hedgehog | 2-piece: Charge Efficiency +12% 4-piece: Increases all allies’ ATK by 15% for 20s after the wearer casts Ultimate. The effect does not stack. |
Generally, Lost Radiance is the strongest choice for Hotori. It perfectly complements her abilities and how she delivers quick, powerful attacks. While Speedy Hedgehog can be used if you’re playing Hotori as a support character, she doesn’t gain much from Charge Efficiency due to her special energy system and skills without cooldowns. Additionally, using other sets might reduce the length of the attack boost she provides to her team, as Hotori remains in combat until she completes her Ultimate Katana sequence.
Okay, so as a fan, I’ve found that if you’re using Hotori with your main character, Speedy Hedgehog is the way to go – it just seems to work better on them. And you only need one of these effects on your whole team, since they don’t stack, so no need to add both!
Best Stats and Modules for Hotori in NTE
Her best stats for both her cartridge and modules depend on the play style.
- Damage: Crit Rate, Crit Damage, and ATK.
- Support: Cycle Intensity, Crit Damage, Crit Rate, and ATK
To maximize damage during her powerful Ultimate ability, focus on increasing both Critical Hit Rate and Attack. If you’re using her for support, prioritize Cycle Intensity, as it boosts Esper Cycle Reaction damage, making her especially effective in teams built around characters like Nanally and Jiuyuan.
Hotori’s damage to enemies with the Cosmos effect increases by 10% for each Type III module equipped. To maximize damage, equip the modules needed for the 4-piece bonus first, then fill any remaining slots with Type III modules – those that have 3 blocks.
Best Hotori Teams in NTE
As of right now, Hotori is only the second limited-time character available in NTE. Because she deals damage as a Cosmos-type, building a strong team around her can be tricky. While two core team compositions are most effective, a free-to-play option is also viable if you don’t have all the top-tier characters.
- Blossom Damage: Hotori, Main Character (MC), Nanally, and Jiuyuan
- Focuses on building Cycle Intensity for stronger Blossom damage from Hotori’s support.
- Hathor Boosting: Hotori, MC, Hathor, and Jiuyuan
- Helps Hathor get Express Delivery Power quicker from Hotori’s support.
- F2P: Hotori, MC, Addler, and Mint
- Addler is there for Shields, and Mint is the main damage dealer when Hotori is not ready for her Ultimate
In each of the above teams, Hotori can still be used for high damage during her Ultimate.
I’m a huge fan of Hotori in NTE! What makes her so great, and why I don’t see her being replaced anytime soon, is her awesome ability to stop time – it’s a really unique mechanic. Plus, she’s fantastic support! She can really boost my team’s damage, and her Ultimate packs a serious punch. If you like having lots of options for building different teams and characters, she’s definitely worth getting.
