How to Craft Ingots in Subnautica 2

In Subnautica 2, you’ll find different kinds of ore. You can use these ores directly in a few recipes, but most advanced crafting requires them to be refined into ingots first.

Even though it’s still in early access, Subnautica 2 has lots of different materials you can collect. However, in the beginning, the most important thing you’ll need is ingots. You can only get these by melting ores using the Processor, and that’s why we created this guide to help!

Before creating a Processor, you first need to build a base using the Habitat Builder to provide it with a room. You can find instructions on how to do that here!

How to Build a Processor in Subnautica 2

You’ll need a Processor to make ingots. To get one, you first have to find its blueprint and then gather the necessary materials, listed below.

To get the Processor blueprint, you need to scan a broken Processor. However, you’ll first need to advance the main story until you unlock Quaker’s Signal – that’s where you’ll find the Processor to scan.

If you’re not sure where to find Quaker, swim north from the Lifepod until you’re about 412 meters away. Then, look down into the water – you should see an abandoned base directly below you with an open entrance.

Go inside the base and head to the second room. Once you’re there, look in the right-hand corner – you’ll find the Processor. Scan it to get its blueprint.

Now that you have the plans, simply collect these materials to build the machine at your base.

  • 2x Raw Titanium Ore
  • 1x Mild Acid
    • Craft it in the Fabricator using 2x Acidic Raion Pouch and 1x raw Copper Ore.
  • 1x Copper Wire
    • Craft it in the Fabricator using 2x raw Copper Ore.

Okay, so once I’ve gathered everything needed, I need to build the Processor inside my base. But just a heads-up – it won’t actually work immediately after I finish building it!

The Processor uses a lot of energy, so you’ll need to power your base. You can do this with a battery installed inside, or by using several Solar Panels outside. Solar Panels are a better choice if your base isn’t too deep underwater.

The processor needs 10 units of energy every second to run. Solar Panels generate between 1 and 8 units of energy per second, so you’ll need at least two of them to power the processor.

The Solar Panel isn’t available at the start of the game. You’ll need to locate its blueprint by scanning a damaged Solar Panel found in the ocean. Building one panel requires 1 Titanium Ore and 2 Quartz Ore.

How to Craft Ingots in Subnautica 2

Once you’ve built a Processor, you can turn raw ores into ingots by placing them inside. You’ll get one ingot for every three units of raw ore, and the ingot will be the same material as the ore you used.

Processing one unit of ingot takes 30 seconds!

Ingots are important for crafting advanced items like the Sonic Resonator, which helps you unlock new areas and continue the story. Don’t hesitate to collect ingots whenever you can, as you’ll need them when you discover new blueprints!
