In Subnautica 2, you’ll need to collect various resources to build your base, explore the ocean, and solve the game’s mysteries. Some materials, like Titanium and Quartz, are fairly common, but others are harder to find and require you to visit specific locations. Sulfur is one of these rarer resources. It only appears in a few places, and those areas can be dangerous, especially when you’re just starting the game. This guide will show you where to find Sulfur in Subnautica 2 and explain what it’s used for.
Where to Find Sulfur in Subnautica 2
Okay, so I figured out where to find sulfur! If you head about 232 meters southeast from where you start in the lifepod, you’ll come across it. It’s right outside a cave โ the one with the bunker inside where you grab Chap’s blackbox. Easy peasy!
You can usually find sulfur around here, but I discovered it on the opposite side of the cave from where your escape pod landed. Basically, you’ll need to walk all the way around the cave to find it on the ground. A good sign you’re in the right place is a flashing yellow light on the seafloor.
I’ve found sulfur in this general direction, beyond the cave I mentioned earlier. But, as I said before, you’ll need to make some more progress before you can reach it.
I received a heat warning while collecting sulfur. It’s dangerous to stay in this area too long or go further from your lifepod without heat protection โ you could die. Make sure you have the right equipment before exploring further.
Sulfur is a yellow substance that can be easily collected by hand, meaning you don’t need any special tools to gather it.
What Is Sulfur Used for in Subnautica 2?
Sulfur is one of the components you’ll need to craft Strong Acid alongside Gold or Necrocysts.
Okay, so once you get heat resistance and start heading further into the game, you’re gonna need Strong Acid. It’s a key ingredient for crafting a bunch of important stuff like Fiber Mesh and Power Cells โ basically, things you need to keep making progress in the main story.
