Microsoft’s Xbox Elite 3 Controller Leaked Online

Okay, so pictures of the new Xbox Elite 3 controller just leaked! Apparently, Brazil’s regulatory agency, Anatel, accidentally put them online. It looks like we’re getting a first glimpse of what the next high-end Xbox controller will look like – pretty cool!

New images suggest the next Xbox Elite controller, likely called the Elite 3, will have a redesigned look. The biggest change appears to be the addition of scroll wheels – one on each side of the controller, located next to the headphone jack.

The controller features a slightly modified, swappable D-Pad and improved back paddles. It also includes two brand-new buttons that weren’t present on previous versions.

Microsoft designed the new Xbox Elite 3 Controller for seamless cloud gaming. It features dedicated buttons that let you quickly switch between playing games locally on your console and streaming them directly from Xbox Cloud Gaming servers. This functionality mirrors a similar feature seen in a recently revealed Xbox Cloud Gaming Controller.

The controller now has a replaceable battery, which is a welcome addition. However, it’s smaller than the one in the previous Elite 2 controller – it holds 1528mAh compared to the older model’s 2050mAh.

It’s currently unknown what Microsoft intends to do with this new controller. There haven’t been any leaks or reports about when they’ll officially announce it. However, Microsoft has gaming events planned next month during Summer Games Fest, and we might get a first look at the controller then.
