Season 4 of Re:Zero reaches a turning point where Subaru and his allies face increasingly difficult odds against a formidable swordsman. Their attempt to conquer the Pleiades Watchtower is incredibly challenging, with each advancement leading to tougher and seemingly insurmountable obstacles.

The Strength of Reid Astrea

The latest challenge is much easier than the last one Subaru Natsuki faced alone. This time, Subaru and his friends must work together to defeat Reid Astrea, a powerful, ancient swordsman connected to the incredibly strong Sword Saint, Reinhard Van Astrea.

Reid Astrea confidently steps forward, using only chopsticks as weapons, and blocks Subaru’s group from passing. Despite Subaru’s usual eagerness to lead, Julius steps in and draws his sword, challenging Reid to a duel.

The next moment exploded into a fierce battle as Julius and Reid collided. Reid quickly proved to be much stronger, easily defeating Julius even while armed with only a pair of chopsticks. He wasn’t even affected when Anastasia attacked with magic, and remarkably, he sliced right through the magical energy with his chopsticks.

Fueled by Subaru Natsuki’s determination, Julius Juukulius is ready to fight Reid Astrea again, hoping to prove himself after his last loss. As a proud royal knight, Julius can’t accept defeat, both for Anastasia’s sake and his own. It’s a risky decision, though, as Reid Astrea is a much more skilled and powerful swordsman.

As the others were talking with Ram about how strong Reid Astrea was and their slim hopes of passing the next exam, Subaru realized Julius was missing. He immediately ran back upstairs and found Julius in a fierce battle, barely surviving a deadly attack from Reid using a pair of chopsticks.

Good news for fans: episode 6 of Re:Zero Season 4 avoids a major character death! Subaru manages to arrive just in time to save Julius from a fatal outcome. The episode is filled with exciting sword fights and magical battles, and while it doesn’t have any shocking deaths, it’s still powerful. We see how incredibly strong Reid Astrea is, Emilia takes a big risk, and Julius shows impressive strength and develops as a character even after facing defeat.
