All Choices & Consequences in Batman Telltale Episode 1
| Choice | Decision (A) | Decision (B) |
|---|---|---|
| Shake Carmine Falcone’s Hand | [Shake his hand] | [Refuse] |
| Invite Harvey into the Private Meeting | Harvey comes with me. | I’ll talk with Falcone alone. |
| Provide Vicki with a Quote | [Give quote] | [Refuse] |
| Show Mercy to the Docks Shooter | [Back out] | [Break] |
| Give Falcone’s Data to Lieutenant Gordon | James Gordon | Vicki Vale |
| Arrest or Brutalize Falcone | [Arrest] | [Brutalize] |
Should You Shake Carmine Faclone’s Hand?
- Shake his hand | Refuse
The first significant decision you’ll face in Episode 1 happens when Falcone unexpectedly visits Wayne Manor. As everyone watches, he offers his hand to Bruce, and you must choose whether to accept the handshake or decline it.
I made a point of shaking Falcone’s hand. It’s important for me to act like Bruce Wayne right now, not Batman, and maintaining that facade is key. It doesn’t really do anything in the moment, but I have a feeling people will be talking about what it means for Bruce and Falcone later on in the episode.
Should You Let Harvey Into the Private Meeting?
- Harvey comes with me. | I’ll talk with Falcone alone.
In the next scene of Episode 1, Falcone requests a private conversation with Bruce at Wayne Manor, excluding Harvey Dent. You’ll need to decide whether to allow Harvey to join you or ask him to wait outside.
Look, I had to let Harvey into the meeting. It’s about his campaign for mayor, and honestly, he’s Bruce’s closest friend. It just felt wrong to exclude him from something that could be really important, and I definitely didn’t want Falcone getting a one-on-one with Harvey or Bruce where he could try to manipulate things.
67.1% of players invited Harvey into the private meeting!
Should You Give Vicki Vale a Quote?
- Give Quote | Refuse
When rumors surface in Gotham linking the Waynes to the Falcone crime family, Vicki Vale gives Bruce Wayne a chance to publicly address the accusations and set the record straight.
I provided Vicki with a statement because I believe it’s important for Bruce Wayne to publicly defend his family’s reputation, rather than stay silent on something so meaningful and private.
85.4% of players provided Vicki with a quote!
Should You Break the Dock Shooter’s Arm?
- Break | Back out
When Batman reaches the docks and examines the scene, he’ll discover the person responsible and deliver his own brand of justice. This involves frightening the criminal, and potentially a harsh interrogation, where Batman might even break their arm.
I decided not to harm the man who was shooting at the docks, because Batman had already gotten everything he needed from him – he’d been arrested, and the police are on their way. There was no point in Batman injuring him further now that we had the information, and it’s better for the police to have a suspect who is calm and collected.
51.3% of players showed mercy in the interrogation of the docks shooter!
Should You Talk to Gordon or Disappear?
- Talk to Gordon | Disappear
Once you’ve dealt with the shooter at the dock, Lieutenant Gordon will show up. You can then choose to tell him about the attack and who you think is responsible, or you can leave without saying anything.
Honestly, this decision doesn’t change the story, but since I’m playing as a young Batman trying to get on Gordon’s good side, I always pick the dialogue option to chat with him. It just feels right to build that connection with the one honest cop in Gotham!
No matter what you decide, Alfred will always say, “You’re going too far, Bruce!” And even if you don’t actually injure the criminal, he’ll insist “you nearly killed him.”
Should You Accept or Tear the Tickets?
- Accept the tickets | Tear them up
After the incident at the docks, Alfred shows Bruce movie tickets from the night his parents died. These tickets serve as a painful reminder of Bruce’s motivation and a memory he can’t escape. The game then asks you whether to keep the tickets or destroy them.
Honestly, taking those tickets was an easy decision for me. I mean, yeah, Batman gets super intense and rough sometimes, but there’s no way he’d ever abandon what he’s fighting for. And he definitely wouldn’t destroy something that reminds him of his parents and why he started all this in the first place.
Should You Give the Evidence to Vicki Vale or James Gordon?
- Vicki Vale | James Gordon
The data drive has been downloaded and contains a lot of proof that Falcone is guilty. Now, Bruce and Alfred need to decide whether to give this evidence to Vicki Vale, who would publish it in the news, or to give it to Gordon and the police so they can arrest him.
It was a straightforward decision. I shared the evidence with Gordon for several reasons. Bruce has faith in Gordon’s integrity as a police officer, and letting him arrest Falcone discreetly, without involving the press, felt like the right approach. Furthermore, it demonstrates that Bruce is still committed to justice, even with the ongoing investigation into the Waynes and concerns about corruption.
72.4% of players gave the Falcone data to Lieutenant Gordon!
Should You Arrest or Brutalize Falcone?
- Arrest | Brutalize
Falcone is finished, and Batman has gathered enough proof to turn him in to the police. Having infiltrated Falcone’s nightclub, Batman can either arrest him immediately or interrogate him roughly – either way, he’ll get more information before the GCPD arrives.
Look, I had to bring in Falcone, even though a part of me wanted to just… well, you know. But beating him up in front of the news cameras? That sends the wrong signal to Gotham. I’m Batman, the city’s protector, not some crazy criminal. Turning him in is how I get the information I need. If I’d gone too far, like… seriously hurt him, he’d just shut down and I’d get nothing. So, yeah, bringing him in was the smart move, even if it wasn’t the most satisfying.
82% of players showed restraint and arrested Falcone safe and sound!
