Want to know how to unlock the Royal Highlands in Palia? This guide will walk you through everything you need to know, including the location, all the areas within it, and the story quests you’ll find along the way to help you explore!
Palia Royal Highlands Location Overview
- Entrance: Near the De Mer Dock Stable in Elderwood
- Unlock Requirement: None (no story progression required)
How to Get To Royal Highlands in Palia
Royal Highlands is a wide-open area in the game, similar to other large zones, meaning you can go there anytime without finishing any quests. To add it as a teleport location at your stables, you just need to visit the Royal Highlands Central Stables once. After that, you can quickly travel there using a small amount of gold.
To reach the Royal Highlands in Palia, go to the De Mer Dock in Elderwood. From the fast travel point, head south and use the ‘F’ key to open the old gate and enter the area. You’ll know you’re in the right spot when you see a couple of boats.
If you’ve already found the Elderwood stable near De Mer Dock, you can use it to quickly travel to Royal Highlands, avoiding a long run across the map (though there’s a 100 gold fee). If you haven’t unlocked it yet, check out our guide to find the De Mer Dock stable location in Palia.
You can find De Mer Dock easily on the map – it’s located just above the Vieuxport Sea and close to the Okonaa Bog.
Palia’s Royal Highlands Map

- Lochland Dock
- Lonely Glen
- The Standing Cliffs
- Enfield Shores
- Embra’s Folly
- Amber Lake
- Mudan’s Wall

All Royal Highlands Main Story Quests
This section marks Chapter 3 in the ongoing Palia story, continuing after the events of Bahari Bay and Elderwood. Players will encounter eight new main story quests in the Royal Highlands. Here’s a preview of what those quests are called:
- A Royal Welcome
- Administrative Access
- A Stitch in Time
- Somewhere That’s Green
- Chasing Perfection
- Cat’s in the Cradle
- The Flames of Ambition
- The Lion and the Lamb
Unlike the initial requirements, you must finish the main storylines in Bahari Bay and Elderwood before beginning quests in the Royal Highlands. Once you complete the final quest, “The Lion and the Lamb,” you’ll receive a new main quest called “Enfield Enrichment” that you can complete whenever you’re ready.
Once you’ve finished the main story, we suggest focusing on the Guide and Discovery side quests. These will teach you about improving your equipment and unlocking new furniture designs. You can also find campsite recipes, treasure chests, and hidden vaults. If you’ve reached Royal Highlands, a great next step is to breed more horses using the Ranching system.
