The third season of Ringside Pass for WWE 2K26 will include a unique version of Rey Mysterio, originally featured when he wrestled for WCW. This version of Mysterio teamed with several wrestlers who later became stars in WWE.
Okay, so I’ve been playing the latest WWE 2K26, and the roster is HUGE. They’ve got all my current favorites like Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso, but they didn’t stop there – they’ve brought in legends like The Undertaker and Macho Man! It launched with over 370 wrestlers, which is insane. And the cool thing is, Visual Concepts is still adding more through these Ringside Passes they’re releasing. They’ve already announced Jeff and Matt Hardy, and even Danhausen are coming! Now, the third season of Ringside Pass is adding another really popular wrestler – it’s awesome they’re keeping the game fresh with so many options.
WWE 2K26 is Adding Rey Mysterio’s Filthy Animals Appearance
Visual Concepts and 2K have announced a new version of Rey Mysterio will be added to WWE 2K26 through Season 3 of the Ringside Pass. This version of Mysterio is based on his look from 1999 when he was a member of the Filthy Animals faction in WCW, featuring his denim overalls and signature skullcap. The Filthy Animals also included future WWE Hall of Famers Eddie Guerrero and Torrie Wilson. Season 3 of the Ringside Pass is expected to be released sometime in June 2026.

The original Rey Mysterio character in the game will be his classic look, but some fans have noticed a detail that isn’t quite right. The version of Mysterio included in the ‘Filthy Animals’ group didn’t wear a mask. In the game, he’s shown with a black mask. Rey Mysterio actually stopped wearing a mask in 1999 after a match against Kevin Nash and Scott Hall. He didn’t start wearing it again until he joined WWE in 2002.
A new version of Rey Mysterio, inspired by his Filthy Animals persona, will be included in Season 3 of the Ringside Pass for WWE 2K26. Visual Concepts has announced several superstars coming in the new season, which launches in March, including Matt Cardona, Brian Pillman, and La Parka. They’ve also revealed more characters will be added, such as a 2001 version of Kane, reflecting his time teaming with The Undertaker as part of the Brothers of Destruction.

As a huge WWE 2K fan, I’m really excited about all the content coming to WWE 2K26! It’s not just Ringside Pass Season 3 – they’ve got a ton planned. Season 4 is adding the Hardy Boyz, which is awesome, plus Lady Shani and even Jelly Roll! Then, Season 5 will bring in Danhausen – he’s become so popular recently, I can’t wait to play as him. And they aren’t stopping there! Season 6 is adding guys like Royce Keys, Earthquake, and Typhoon. Seriously, the already huge roster is getting even bigger in the months ahead, and I can’t wait!
