Gojo Satoru was incredibly powerful, considered the strongest sorcerer of his time, and a hugely popular character in the original Jujutsu Kaisen series. His strength was unmatched, except perhaps by Ryomen Sukuna. Now, in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, decades have passed since Gojo’s death, and the world has changed significantly. However, even 68 years later, people still talk about him.

The third volume of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga adaptation, JJK Modulo, has just been released, and with it, author Gege Akutami revealed a long-term plan for the story’s future. This plan strongly hints at the return of Gojo Satoru, a hugely popular character, which is exciting news for fans.

Jujutsu Kaisen’s Modern Era Is Missing The True Strength Of The Gojo Clan

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo was first published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump on September 21, 2025, and ran until March 9, 2026, for a total of 25 chapters. The series, illustrated by Yuji Iwasaki and written by Gege Akutami, takes place 68 years after the events of the Shinjuku Showdown Raid, where both Gojo Satoru and Ryomen Sukuna were defeated. Gojo Satoru ultimately lost his battle against Sukuna after being struck by the World-Splitting Dismantle.

After Gojo Satoru’s defeat, the world of jujutsu sorcerers underwent a significant shift. It takes place almost seventy years after the fight with Sukuna, which opens up a lot of possibilities for new members of the Gojo Clan. But the real kicker came in the latest volume – specifically, chapter three. Yuji Itadori shared a plan with Nobara Kugisaki that strongly suggests we’ll be seeing another Gojo Clan member emerge, and this one looks like they could have powers very similar to Satoru’s.

This army would be dedicated to eliminating cursed spirits in Tokyo. Yuji believes he’ll live for another 300 years, but he’s concerned about who will protect people after his death. He envisions a massive time jump of 369 years following the events in Shinjuku, and this army is meant to ensure the world is safe even after he’s no longer around.

The recent time jump strongly suggests that a new Gojo will be born, but not in the way most fans anticipated. The events at the end of the Modulo arc changed both humans and Simurians, causing each successive generation to have less and less cursed energy, eventually reaching extremely low levels. This makes using cursed techniques impossible. However, cursed energy can’t completely disappear, meaning inherited traits like the Six Eyes should still appear. It’s likely someone with the Six Eyes will be born again in approximately 369 years.

The Next Gojo Satoru Will Inevitably Appear In The Next Jujutsu Kaisen Continuation

Gojo Satoru’s birth dramatically changed the world of Jujutsu Kaisen. He was the first person in 400 years to possess both the Limitless and Six Eyes abilities simultaneously. While these powers can appear separately in individuals, their combination is exceptionally rare. The Limitless technique is essentially obsolete now that cursed techniques are fading, similar to other Cursed Techniques. However, the Six Eyes could still potentially exist, as cursed energy doesn’t completely disappear and traits related to it are expected to persist in the future of the Jujutsu Kaisen world.

It’s probable that someone with the Six Eyes ability will be born into the Gojo clan again someday. This person probably won’t have a cursed technique of their own, but with a powerful cursed tool, the Six Eyes could still make them incredibly strong. Ultimately, it’s up to Gege Akutami and Yuji Iwasaki to create a new Jujutsu Kaisen story that introduces the next Gojo Satoru in a contemporary setting.

While there’s still a small chance the Jujutsu Kaisen story could continue, it’s currently uncertain if the author will resume it. The ending leaves room for expansion if they choose to do so. Fortunately, the author’s editor has confirmed a new work is planned and has asked fans for patience. It’s unknown if this new series will connect to Jujutsu Kaisen, but something is definitely coming. If the new series is set hundreds of years in the future, a return of Gojo is a real possibility.
