This article contains spoilers for Wistoria: Wand and Sword Season 2.
Will Serfort is getting closer to his goal of reaching Elfaria in the game Wistoria: Wand and Sword. He’s finally become a High Mage after overcoming many challenges. Although the first part of Season 2, Episode 6 was mostly cheerful, the episode ended with some worrying news for Will and the other High Mages still at the Mercedes Caulis Tower.
Magia Vander’s Tower is a renowned school for magical learning and research, but it’s a difficult environment for Will Serfort, who doesn’t possess magical abilities. Before he can join a group within the school, Will must first endure the dangerous Pruning Ceremony in the world of Wistoria: Wand and Sword.

A New Garb and Sword For a New High Mage
The characters in Wistoria: Wand and Sword have received new outfits called the “Colorless Gloria.” These magical robes are a major improvement over their old school uniforms from Rigarden Magical Academy, being both lighter and more magically protective. Now that Will Serfort and his fellow High Mages—known as the Grim Generation—have been promoted, they’re officially wearing these new robes.
Before Will Serfort enters Magia Vander’s tower, he receives a replacement sword from Donnan called the Wist-Set Silver Sword. His previous sword, Moria’s Silver Sword, was destroyed in the fight against the Devander. This new sword has a violet blade and a Wist gem that makes Will’s attacks stronger, and it’s particularly good at slicing through magic spells.
Wearing new outfits and carrying replacement swords, Will Serfort and his companions – Julius, Colette, Wignall, Lihanna, Sion, and the rest of the Grim Generation – entered the Magia Vander’s Tower. They were thrilled to be entering the famous tower for the first time, but their excitement soon faded as they witnessed a harsh ceremony meant to identify the most powerful High Mages and eliminate those who didn’t meet the standard.

Entering the First Floor of the Magia Vander’s Tower
The Pruning Ceremony Begins
Before attempting the first floor of Magia Vander’s Tower, several powerful mages received offers to join the tower’s strongest groups. Colette, Wignall, Sion, and Lihanna were quickly recognized for their talent and invited to join different factions within Magia Vander. However, Will Serfort and Julius weren’t offered any invitations, even though Elfaria tried to recruit Will to her side.
Therefore, powerful mages who haven’t lost their magical ability must participate in a challenging ritual to earn the right to climb the tower. Failing this ritual doesn’t mean they’ll be kicked out of Magia Vander’s Tower, but it does mean they’ll be stuck on the first floor forever – a place many mages sadly call the “Wand’s Grave.” Because of this, Will and Julius participate in the ritual while their friends continue their journey.
It’s increasingly annoying to watch the Upper Institute keep questioning Will Serfort’s skills. Even after he impressed everyone at the Terminalia Festival, they still treat him with suspicion and don’t seem to recognize his value. Their decision to prevent Elfaria from recruiting him proves just how little they appreciate his rare ability to counter magic.
Will Serfort Could Join Elfaria’s Faction
Will Serfort Fights Multiple Zoctonia
In the realm of Magia Vander, Elfaria’s group works with powerful High Mages who are skilled in water magic. Though Julius is a remarkably talented water and ice mage, his pride, inflated ego, and prejudice against Will Serfort make it impossible for Elfaria to enlist his help.
Will Serfort is a bit of an oddity because he can’t use magic himself. This actually makes him appealing to almost every group, as they can’t quite figure out where his talents lie – his sword can soak up any magical attack, after all. But as readers know, Will’s real ambition is to get to Elfaria and fulfill his old promise to stand with her as a mage-blade.
Will Serfort impressed during the ceremony and is now the most likely candidate to join Magia Vander’s group. If no one from the Upper Institute interferes, he should be able to rejoin Elfaria in Magia Vander’s tower soon. You can watch episode 7 of Wistoria: Wand and Sword Season 2, titled “He Said He Would No Longer Hang His Head,” on May 24, 2026.
