Sung Jinwoo from Solo Leveling is a powerful character who joins the ranks of other incredibly strong anime heroes. As the Shadow Monarch, he has almost god-like abilities, far surpassing any typical villain in Solo Leveling. Even other powerful beings like the Monarchs and the Itarim Gods have trouble defeating him, as his strength is immense and makes him a formidable opponent.
Besides Sung Jinwoo from Solo Leveling, many anime villains possess incredible power. Similar to him, they are extremely strong and difficult to overcome. In a fight, these villains could easily defeat Sung Jinwoo and put him at a disadvantage.
9. Black Frieza Is a Next-Level Form That Outclasses Goku and Vegeta
Anime: Dragon Ball
Black Frieza’s newest form is one of the most significant power increases in all of Dragon Ball. It’s on an entirely different level, easily surpassing even the strongest forms of characters like Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, and Broly – all without Frieza even giving it his all.
To beat Black Frieza, Sung Jinwoo would need to become far more powerful than even Goku and Vegeta at their strongest. While Sung Jinwoo can control shadows and even command death, that doesn’t mean he could permanently defeat Frieza, who has a history of coming back to life.
8. Featherine Augustus Aurora Can Rewrite Existence Itself
Anime: Higurashi: When They Cry
Featherine Augustus Aurora is a character in the Higurashi series who is virtually immortal. She’s an incredibly strong and dangerous witch who is more powerful than anyone in the Umineko world because she can control the story itself. Essentially, she can change what happens in Higurashi, acting as if she were the author.
While Sung Jinwoo grows stronger through typical means like increased strength and speed, Featherine Augustus Aurora operates on a different level. She’s not limited by the usual rules of power within the story. Because of this, she could easily defeat Sung Jinwoo and his army simply by changing the plot. Theoretically, she could even reduce him back to how he was at the very beginning of Solo Leveling.
7. The Antispiral Is a Galactic-Scale Tyrant
Anime: Gurren Lagann
The Antispiral is an incredibly powerful villain, operating on a galactic scale. It can control reality, change probabilities, travel through time, manipulate minds, and even erase things from existence – and that’s just scratching the surface of its abilities. It seems the creator of Gurren Lagann gave the Antispiral every conceivable superpower.
In Gurren Lagann, the Antispiral is famous for its power to weaponize entire galaxies, flinging them as incredibly destructive attacks. If Sung Jin-Woo were to fight the Antispiral, he’d have to survive being bombarded with galaxies, defeat its giant robots and countless warships, and find a way to overcome its frightening ability to copy others.
6. Chaos Is the Embodiment of Darkness
Anime: Sailor Moon
In the world of Sailor Moon, Chaos is Sung Jinwoo’s most powerful enemy. Representing pure darkness, conflict, and destruction, Chaos is a far greater threat than any other villain the Sailor Guardians have faced. Its power isn’t just immense, it exists on a cosmic and almost abstract level.
When at its peak, Chaos can affect everything across the entire universe and even multiple universes. After absorbing and twisting the Galaxy Cauldron, its danger expanded beyond individual planets or galaxies to encompass the whole cosmos. Importantly, Chaos can’t be permanently defeated because it’s a fundamental force—an abstract entity created by, and constantly renewed through, the darkness found within all living beings.
5. Yhwach Sees Every Future Path
Anime: Bleach
Fighting Yhwach at his full strength is incredibly difficult, particularly if Sung Jinwoo doesn’t know about Yhwach’s immense power. Yhwach’s ability, called “The Almighty,” lets him see all possible futures with perfect accuracy. This almost god-like power allows him to predict what will happen, both good and bad, and even change events to ensure he wins.
Yhwach can change the future if he doesn’t like how a battle is going, instantly creating a new future where he wins. This makes it very difficult to catch him off guard or outsmart him. But changing the future isn’t his only strength – he has plenty of other abilities he can use to keep Sung Jinwoo on the defensive.
4. Phoebus Abel Has Power Over Death and Souls
Anime: Saint Seiya
Saint Seiya features incredibly powerful villains who harness cosmic energy, and Phoebus Abel is one of the strongest. Once considered a god of the sun, Abel tried to overthrow Zeus, the king of the gods, in a power grab. However, his rebellion failed when he was defeated by Apollo.
After years in prison, Phoebus Abel returns with a plan to remake the world by destroying it first. While not part of the original story, he’s widely considered one of the strongest villains in Saint Seiya, often depicted as more powerful than many of the gods featured in the series.
If Sung Jin-Woo wants to defeat Phoebus Abel, he’ll need incredibly powerful attacks – ones that go beyond normal cosmic defenses. Otherwise, Abel can simply reflect or strengthen any attack Jin-Woo throws at him. The fight is especially challenging because, like Jin-Woo, Abel can control death and even manipulate souls.
3. Cosmic Fear Garou Can Go Toe-to-Toe With Serious Saitama
Anime: One-Punch Man
I’ve noticed a lot of anime fans debating who’s stronger, Cosmic Fear Garou from One-Punch Man or Sung Jinwoo. Right now, in the anime, Jinwoo just isn’t on Garou’s level. Garou is so powerful he could likely defeat Jinwoo without even moving, just from the sheer amount of energy he’s radiating.
Cosmic Fear Garou is incredibly powerful, able to fight on equal footing with a serious Saitama and constantly improve his abilities mid-battle, similar to Sung Jin-Woo. He can also learn and use techniques from both Saitama and Blast during a fight. Because of this, many fans believe a battle between Cosmic Fear Garou and Sung Jin-Woo would be very close, and either character could win depending on the specific circumstances.
2. Amon Is The Great Old One’s Archenemy
Anime: Lord of Mysteries
Amon’s best chance of winning against Sung Jin-Woo would be to take him out quickly. If Amon can find a weakness in Jin-Woo’s powers – by tricking him, exploiting a flaw, or capitalizing on any limitations – he might be able to defeat or disable him before the battle truly starts.
In the world of Lord of Mysteries, Amon is a remarkably powerful being and is set up to be the main antagonist in Klein Moretti’s story. Similar to Sung Jinwoo, Amon is incredibly hard to defeat because he has many copies of himself, can absorb the abilities of others, and even exists on a conceptual level, making him very resilient.
1. Park Mubong Is a Supreme God
Anime: The God of High School
Similar to the main character Sung Jinwoo, Park Mubong wasn’t initially presented as incredibly powerful in God of High School. However, he quickly established himself as a very talented martial artist with a unique ability called charyeok – which allows him to borrow power from gods and mythical beings within the story.
In The God of High School, Park Mubong grows incredibly powerful, eventually becoming a Supreme God – one of the most formidable fighters in the series. As a Supreme God, he gains astonishing abilities, like altering timelines, moving planets, reshaping the world, opening portals to other dimensions, summoning massive mountains, and controlling matter at a fundamental level – even breaking it down completely.
