So far, the release of Re:Zero Season 4 has been going well. As spring continues, only four episodes are left. Episode 7 of Re:Zero Season 4 will be available on Crunchyroll this week, continuing the story after Julius Juukulius’s second loss to Reid Astrea.
The fourth season of Re:Zero will have 19 episodes released in two parts. Eleven episodes are planned for spring 2026, and the remaining nine will air starting in August as part of the summer season. This season will be shorter than previous seasons of the show.

In the latest episode of Re:Zero Season 4, Reid Astrea demonstrated incredible fighting skills, proving why he’s considered the first Sword Saint. He easily beat Julius twice, even using just chopsticks! Emilia managed to turn things around and win against Reid for Subaru’s team. Subaru himself hasn’t had a chance to battle Reid yet. The next episode of Re:Zero Season 4 will be released on May 20, 2026, at 10:00 AM Eastern Time / 7:00 AM Pacific Time.
With the newest episode of Re:Zero Season 4 now available, there are only four episodes left until the season—and the series—ends. Here’s the release schedule for those final episodes this spring:

- Episode 9: June 3, 2026
- Episode 10: June 10, 2026
- Episode 11: June 17, 2026
The dates mentioned could be subject to change depending on any announcements from the team making Re:Zero. However, Season 4 will pause after the 11th episode and then continue with the final eight episodes, starting in August 2026. Reid Astrea Stands Between Subaru and the Next Floor
How Reid Astrea Can Be Defeated
Reid Astrea is a formidable judge in the Pleiades Trials and has a direct connection to Reinhard van Astrea, the current Sword Saint and an incredibly powerful fighter. A former Sword Saint himself, Reid is a master swordsman – so skilled, in fact, that he can even defeat skilled opponents using simple objects like chopsticks.
When it comes to swordsmanship, Julius Juukulius doesn’t measure up to Reid Astrea, as their fights have clearly shown. Even with a powerful sword, Julius can’t compete with Reid’s incredible fighting skills. This highlights just how strong Reid is, even though he has a strange personality and questionable behavior.
Reid Astrea is now blocking Subaru and his friends from moving forward. Even Shaula doesn’t know how to get past him, which is delaying their progress. However, Julius is determined to find a solution and won’t accept defeat.

Re:Zero Season 4 Episode 7 Plot
In Season 4 of Re:Zero, the Green Room is a place where people can recover from injuries and sickness. Currently, Rem and Patrasche are staying there, but only Patrasche is benefiting from the healing properties. Rem has a different issue – she needs to regain her memories and name to get better. However, the Green Room can heal battle wounds, as seen with Julius’s injuries.
The details for Re:Zero Season 4, Episode 7 are now available on the show’s official website. Based on what we know, this episode likely won’t have much action, as Julius is currently unwell. Subaru and his friends are still figuring out how to beat Reid Astrea, but this might be a good chance for Subaru to do some independent investigating.
Episode 7 will feature a second meeting between Subaru and Eridna, as revealed in the episode synopsis. Fans will remember that Eridna is currently possessing Anastasia Hoshin’s body in Re:Zero Season 4. Like Subaru, she’s trying to restore Anastasia by completing the challenges within the Watchtower.
