Paralives: How to Quit & Find a New Job

As a Paralives player, I’m excited to learn all the ins and outs of the game! One big part of playing is definitely managing your Parafolks’ careers – most of them will already have jobs when you start a new game, but sometimes you want them to switch things up. I was looking for a guide on how to quit a job and find a new one, and also how to help my Parafolks climb the career ladder to earn more money. This guide covers everything you need to know about doing just that!

How to Quit a Job in Paralives

To have a Para leave their position, first select them at the bottom of the screen. Then, click the bag icon located on the left side. You can find it highlighted in the screenshot below.

Scroll all the way down this page to find the ‘Quit Job’ button. Click it and confirm your choice to immediately relieve your Para of their work duties.

Remember that leaving a job means losing that regular paycheck. If someone lives independently or is the sole income earner for their family, they could face financial difficulties if it takes time to find new employment.

How to Find a New Job in Paralives

When you’re looking for a new job, you can have Para use a computer and select ‘Find a Job.’ Alternatively, you can have Para use their phone and then choose ‘Find a Job’ from the options.

This will open a screen showing available jobs, organized by categories like Software Development, Science, and Fitness.

Choose the job you’re interested in and let us know the hours you’d like to work. We can sometimes adjust the schedule to fit your needs, depending on the position.

You’ll receive a message confirming your Para’s start date. Mine began the very next day, so be sure to enjoy their last day before they start!

Unlocking Higher-Paid Jobs

Just like in real life, better jobs in Paralives require the right qualifications. To apply, you’ll need to earn a specific number of ‘Application Points’. You can see how many points are needed for each job by simply hovering over it on the ‘Job Postings’ screen.

The ‘Required’ total shown at the bottom represents the overall number of skill points your character needs. Looking at the example, my character Para currently has 7 points spread across skills like Food, Cooking, Service Work, and her high Charisma stat. However, to fully qualify, she needs a total of 30 points, including experience in both Management and Food service.

To help a Para develop their skills, they can take on entry-level jobs in related fields, study relevant books, or research the topics online. Engaging in hobbies that utilize those same skills is another great way to improve quickly. For a more in-depth look at skill-building, check out my detailed guide on improving skills in Paralives.
