The Honor 600 Pro is now available in South Africa, offering premium features at an affordable price. After testing it for a week, I’m really impressed.
There’s a significant difference between the company’s 600 Lite and 600 Pro models, and the ‘Pro’ designation accurately reflects that.
Watch the unboxing of the Honor 600 Pro below:
The Honor 600 Pro boasts several premium features, like a vibrant 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and a powerful 200MP AI camera. It’s also equipped with a top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and an Adreno 830 GPU, making it great for mobile gaming.
This phone operates on Honor’s MagicOS 10, which is built on Android 16. It comes with 512GB of storage and 12GB of RAM. The large 7000mAh battery easily lasted me about two days with typical use.

I was really impressed with the Honor 600 Pro’s camera. It features a powerful 200MP main camera with an f1.9 aperture, plus a 50MP secondary camera with an f2.8 aperture. It also includes a 12MP ultra-wide camera for broader shots.
The Honor 600 Pro also has a color temperature sensor, located on the bottom right of the camera area. This sensor detects the colors around you, helping the camera capture more accurate and natural-looking photos.
Honor’s camera system is loaded with helpful AI features, offering things like enhanced portrait and zoom capabilities. It’s a powerful setup, well-equipped for both taking photos and shooting videos.

Honor claims its 200MP camera – the phone’s primary lens – is excellent in low light, and tests confirm this is true. Photos taken in the dark are surprisingly good for a phone at this price.
I was actually surprised by how much I liked some of the new AI features. I generally don’t care for this kind of technology, but being able to remove unwanted objects from videos is really useful. It not only improves the final video, but also makes the whole shooting process smoother.
A new AI tool lets you combine video clips and add creative effects, letting you easily create unique and interesting content.

I likely won’t need these features myself, but I think a lot of people will love having the ability to make interesting things with them.
The Honor 600 Pro is more than just a powerful phone with impressive features – it also looks great. While its camera bump isn’t a totally new idea – many phones are now imitating the look of Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro – the overall design feels high-end and sophisticated.

The phone feels solid and well-built, with a frosted glass back and a metal frame that gives it a high-end look and feel. Honor maximized the screen space by minimizing the bezels, and the overall design is impressively thin and sleek. I really have no criticisms – it’s one of the most stylish Android phones I’ve ever used.
I’m still testing the Honor 600 Pro and will publish a complete review shortly. For now, I wanted to share my initial impressions after spending some time with the phone.
The Honor 600 Pro is now on sale in South Africa, with prices starting at R19,999. You can find more details about the phone on the official Honor website.
