Players of Battlefield 6 are still voicing their concerns about how small the game’s maps are. This was a major issue during the Battlefield 6 beta, and it continues to be a problem now that the full game is out.
The *Battlefield 6* beta included only a limited number of maps, leading many players to hope the full game would deliver the large-scale battles *Battlefield* is known for. Even the game’s design director acknowledged concerns about map size, stating that scale isn’t the only important factor and that the maps would cater to all playstyles. Once the initial frustration from the beta testing period subsided, players were left to wait and see if the developers would address their feedback.
Battlefield 6 Players Still Don’t Like the Smaller Overall Map Size
I’ve been seeing a lot of chatter online – a thread on Reddit started by Dull-Caterpillar3153 really hit the nail on the head. Basically, even now that *Battlefield 6* is fully out, the maps just feel kinda small. It’s not a good mix of sizes, either. We’re mostly getting really small, small, and medium maps, and there aren’t many large ones. Even the maps that *look* big don’t play that way – they’re super chaotic all the time, and honestly, they feel smaller than they appear on the map screen.
A lot of people agreed with Dull-Caterpillar3153’s feelings, with one player stating the maps made the game unenjoyable, feeling constantly under attack and unable to survive for long. Another mentioned being quickly eliminated even while safe in their starting area. Despite many still enjoying the game in general, players were frustrated that this feedback from the *Battlefield 6* beta wasn’t addressed.
It’s understandable that Battlefield Studios might not have had enough time to revise the launch maps based on player feedback. However, with the first season of *Battlefield 6* content coming soon, players can reasonably expect the concerns about map size to be addressed. Season 1 begins on October 28th with the Rogue Ops update, introducing the Blackwell Fields map. The Eastwood and Ice Lock Empire State maps will follow on November 18th and December 9th, respectively.
