Boruto: Two Blue Vortex’s New Arc Prepares 2 Power Upgrades For Sasuke Uchiha

The next story arc of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex will officially start, as announced on the official Naruto website (naruto-official.com) on May 15, 2026. The story picks up after the events involving Mamushi and will center around Shinju Hidari, a clone of Sasuke Uchiha. This new arc, beginning in V-Jump Issue #7, promises to reveal more about Sasuke’s character and set the stage for his return, as envisioned by the artist Ikemoto.

After Hidari’s defeat, Sasuke’s return won’t be a repeat of his previous weakness. He’s coming back significantly more powerful, with two key power boosts already foreshadowed in the manga – one in chapter 3 of Two Blue Vortex and another officially revealed in chapter 29.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 34 Will Begin The Arc To Bring Sasuke Uchiha Back

On May 15, 2026, the official Naruto website gave fans a preview of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 34. The preview showed that the Mamushi arc is finished, and Sarada Uchiha and the other shinobi who fought in the big battle in Konoha are now recovering. However, they won’t have much time to rest, as Shinju Hidari and Jura are about to make their next move.

With so many villains appearing now, it’s clear these two characters will be key players in the next Boruto storyline, with Hidari taking center stage. Since Hidari seems less powerful, he’s probably the first opponent Sarada Uchiha and the other Konoha ninja will face. This fits with the recent focus on Sarada and her Mangekyo Sharingan, as hinted at in the preview for Two Blue Vortex Chapter 34.

Sasuke told Boruto, ‘I have a feeling something big is happening, something only you and Sarada are equipped to handle. That’s why I trained you both.’

The current Boruto storyline heavily features Hidari, and this is clearly building towards Sasuke Uchiha’s return. We already know that a special item called the Thorn Soul Bulb, which Hidari possesses, is the key to freeing Sasuke. To get it, someone needs to defeat Hidari. Since Hidari is the main villain of this arc, the opportunity to take the Thorn Soul Bulb will arise. Once the Konoha ninja obtain it, Sasuke will finally be freed from his current predicament and can return after three years – a return many fans have been eagerly awaiting, with some even losing interest in the series during his absence. Therefore, this new arc will largely focus on bringing Sasuke back, meaning characters like Sarada Uchiha and Boruto Uzumaki will be central to the story.

Why Sasuke Uchiha Will Return With Two Major Buffs After The Hidari Arc

It’s only a matter of time before Sasuke Uchiha returns to the Boruto series. With Mamushi defeated, and only two of the Shinju remaining, Hidari is likely to be the next to fall, which will trigger Sasuke’s return. However, he won’t be the same as before. After being injured by Momoshiki, Sasuke lost much of his power. But according to chapters 3 and 29 of Two Blue Vortex, he’ll be even stronger when he does come back.

Okay, so this blade is incredible! It’s been completely reworked from the original material to be as strong as possible. But get this – once you hold the handle, your Uchiha-style Kenjutsu, the Hagoromo, just… stays active on its own! It’s like the sword supports your technique automatically. Pretty amazing, right?

The latest chapter of Boruto Two Blue Vortex revealed that Sasuke Uchiha spent the time skip intensely training and becoming much more powerful. He’s become strong enough to take one of Code’s eyes – even though Code was stronger than Jigen! The fact that Sasuke did this without using his Rinnegan proves just how much his overall strength has increased, a claim also supported by official Boruto data books. This power boost is just one of two improvements we’ll see from Sasuke when he returns.

In chapter 28 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, released on November 19, 2025, and featured in the January 2026 issue of V-Jump, a significant upgrade to Sasuke’s abilities was revealed. Sumire transformed Sasuke’s Kusanagi Sword into a more powerful katana, greatly enhancing its cutting ability and adding a currently unknown new skill. Although Boruto is currently using the blade, Sumire has linked Sasuke’s chakra to it, meaning he’ll be able to wield it again upon his return. These two improvements will make Sasuke incredibly powerful when he rejoins the story after the Hidari arc.

All Powers And Abilities Of Sasuke After Boruto’s Three-Year Time Skip

Sasuke Uchiha is currently one of the strongest ninjas in existence. Even after the time skip, he’s maintained most of his incredible power. Although he no longer has the Rinnegan, he still possesses his Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, allowing him to use powerful techniques like Amaterasu and Kagutsuchi, as well as summon his Full-Body Susanoo. As an adult, Sasuke mastered all five basic nature transformations, which will be a huge advantage in future battles.

Boruto, I’m sorry. As your teacher, it was my job to stop Momoshiki, and I failed to protect you. I should have been there for you. Please, let the village blame only me for what happened.

On top of everything else, Sasuke received a significant power boost during the three-year time skip, including new abilities and a new sword. These improvements will make him even more powerful when he returns. He should now be strong enough to face incredibly powerful enemies like the Shinju or the Otsutsuki clan. It’s logical that he’ll be at his peak in the Two Blue Vortex arc, and this will likely make the Boruto manga even more popular.

After such a long wait, all that’s left is to see how the next story arc develops. Based on previous arcs, it will probably take between 8 and 15 chapters. When it’s over, Sasuke Uchiha should be back in action, once again helping to protect Konoha and the people he cares about. Most importantly, his return will give Naruto fans something to be excited about.

The next story arc for Boruto: Two Blue Vortex will launch on May 20, 2026, in issue #7 of Shueisha’s V-Jump magazine. Fans can read the new chapters on Viz Media and Manga Plus.
