Capcom, the company behind the popular game Dead Rising, has announced that the series will be making a comeback. This news came from a recent financial report where Capcom discussed its current performance and future projects.
I first got into Dead Rising way back in 2006, and honestly, the series has been pretty quiet for a long time now. It was awesome to see it come back with Dead Rising: Deluxe Remaster, which was basically a fresh take on the original. But a lot of us fans were hoping for more, and it sounds like we might actually get it someday!

Capcom recently shared its financial results, highlighting key franchises like Dead Rising as important assets. The company plans to focus on expanding its most popular series – including Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, and Street Fighter – but also intends to revitalize other classic titles. These include Dead Rising, Mega Man, Devil May Cry, Ace Attorney, Dragon’s Dogma, Marvel vs. Capcom, Onimusha, and Okami. Dead Rising has sold 19 million copies, making it the sixth most popular franchise on the list. Capcom aims to use these games as a major source of future growth through remakes, new installments, and other related projects.

Currently, Onimusha is the only franchise with a confirmed release in 2026 – Onimusha Way of the Sword is coming out this year. While Mega Man: Dual Override and Okami 2 have been announced, they won’t be available until 2027 at the earliest. Given that the original Dead Rising just received a remaster, a full remake seems less probable than a new sequel, though fans may have to wait a while for it.
