I’m so excited! It looks like they’ve actually started filming the Elden Ring movie in London! Some pictures from the set are popping up online, and they’re giving us a little peek at what A24’s version of the amazing 2022 game might look like.
If you don’t want to see any sneak peeks, now’s the time to stop reading! But I’m excited to share that the upcoming content looks great based on recent set photos. It seems like they’re building a lot of the environments practically, rather than relying solely on computer-generated imagery for The Lands Between.

A recent image appears to showcase the numerous birdcages within Raya Lucaria Academy, hinting at the inclusion of Glintstone magic in the game. It also suggests we might encounter characters like Rennala and the Red Wolf of Radagon, which is fantastic news!
Additional images reveal banners with the Erdtree emblem, what appears to be a Leyndell Knight’s helmet, and other golden decorations similar to those found in the grandest parts of The Lands Between. The overall visual style seems to be captured flawlessly, and impressively, it’s all been brought to life in a tangible, real-world form.
I was checking out some set photos, and one really caught my eye! It looks exactly like the gallows from the beginning of the game – you know, the one where they hanged that awful Dung-Eater. It’s got me wondering…do you think we’ll see him, and maybe even his…unique habits, on the big screen? Honestly, a little part of me is hoping we do!
In Elden Ring, Dung-Eater had his own story and could be unlocked to help players in battles or even invade their games, suggesting he might appear as a character in the upcoming movie. The presence of a gallows also hints that the movie could recreate the game’s iconic opening cutscene in live-action.

I’m genuinely thrilled with everything I’ve seen so far. The film boasts a strong cast, is directed by Alex Garland, and has a substantial budget – reportedly over $100 million – making it A24’s most ambitious project to date.
