Today, FromSoftware revealed the major Elden Ring expansion, ‘The Forsaken Hollows‘, during Sony’s State of Play Japan livestream. It will be available on PS5 starting December 4th, 2025, and you can watch the announcement trailer above.
Okay, so the new DLC is looking awesome! They’re adding two totally new classes to play as, and two new bosses to test my skills against. Apparently, these new classes are called Nightfarers, and specifically, there’s the Scholar and the Undertaker. I checked out the PlayStation Blog and it gives a quick rundown of what each of them does.
- Scholar
- An academic who walks the Lands Between. Boasting impressive arcane levels, he gains incredible advantages through battlefield observation.
- Undertaker
- An abbess who was mandated to slay the Nightlord. Boasting impressive strength and faith, she sends enemies to the afterlife with ruthless efficiency.
While details are still limited on the new bosses, players can look forward to a new event called Shifting Earth. This event centers around the Great Hollow, a massive chasm that’s opened up deep within Limveld. Inside, you’ll find strange ruins, ancient temples, and towers—remnants of a lost civilization—along with crystals that release a dangerous, life-sapping mist.
If you purchased the Deluxe Edition of the game, the DLC is already included. However, if you only have the standard version, you can upgrade to add The Forsaken Hollows DLC.
