Battlestate Games has launched a new event for Escape From Tarkov taking place on the Factory map, the game’s smallest area. Now through May 4th, players can take on Killa and Tagilla in the ‘Arena Cleanup Crew’ event on Factory.
Escape From Tarkov frequently runs special in-game events that break up the standard gameplay. These events are usually harder than normal, with tweaked rules to give players a new experience. Battlestate Games also uses these events to try out new items and features before adding them to the full game. While there isn’t a set schedule, events generally happen every couple of months.
Escape From Tarkov Factory Event Allows Players to Challenge Killa and Tagilla
A new event called Arena Cleanup Crew has been announced for Escape From Tarkov on X (formerly Twitter). It takes place on the daytime Factory map – the smallest map in the game – and features both player-versus-player (PvP) and player-versus-environment (PvE) challenges against Killa and Tagilla. Instead of the usual Scavs, players will encounter new cleanup crews led by these characters, typically in groups of three or four. The event’s story explains that ‘Ref’ wants Factory ready for arena fights and is willing to do whatever it takes, employing Killa and Tagilla’s cleanup crew to eliminate anyone causing trouble.
So, they’ve shut down Scav runs on Factory for this event, which makes sense since it’s all about taking on two tough bosses. You also can’t even get to Factory right now. This event doesn’t last forever, though – it ends on May 4th at 1 AM EST, so we gotta jump in quick! Because Factory is so small, things are gonna get seriously hectic there for the next few days, I can feel it.
Players have had varying reactions to the event. Some have found it too difficult, and others are struggling to locate Killa and Tagilla on the map. The frequent gunfights with the cleanup crew are divisive – some players enjoy them, while others think they happen too often. Because there are fewer player-controlled Scavs on this map, some believe players should be better equipped. With Killa and Tagilla spawning every time, it’s a good chance for PMC players to complete the challenge of defeating Killa 100 times and earn the Master of ULTRA achievement.

Players of Escape From Tarkov have several exciting things to anticipate this year. Last month, a puzzling TarCoin item appeared in the game, but Battlestate Games hasn’t explained what it’s for yet. The developer is also still working on the long-awaited Icebreaker map, which was first previewed last year. It’s expected to be included in the 1.0.5 update, though a specific release date hasn’t been announced.
