Let’s get straight to the point: you can’t exit your car and freely walk around as your character in Forza Horizon 6. It’s designed as a driving game, so you won’t be able to walk around, talk to people, or interact with the world outside of your vehicle. You’ll explore the Japanese landscape entirely by driving.
While you can’t fully get out of your car in Forza Horizon 6, there are ways to look around and take pictures from different angles. You can use a few tricks to control the camera outside the vehicle, and Photo Mode lets you pose your character near cars for great shots. Here’s how to do it!
Using Drone Mode in Forza Horizon 6
In Forza Horizon 6, you can explore the game world with a free-roaming camera by going to the pause menu, selecting ‘My Horizon,’ and then choosing ‘Drone Mode’ on the right. This lets you move the camera far away from your car to scout the environment – it’s perfect for finding hidden Barns or getting a good view of XP Boards.
Car Meets and Garages
To take pictures of your character and cars, you can head to one of the Car Meet locations around Japan. Simply find a spot on your map, park, and then open Photo Mode to start snapping photos.
Switch to ‘Effects Mode’ to find options for customizing your avatar and the environment. You can position your avatar inside or outside the car, change their pose, and even use unlocked emotes to make them move. You can also adjust the time of day, weather, and clear out the surrounding crowds.
In Forza Horizon 6, once you buy a player home, you can quickly travel there. Inside, you’ll find a ‘Customizable Garage’ where you can look at your cars and move your character around, similar to how it works at Car Meets.
