Modding has revolutionized gaming, letting fans create their own stories, experiences, and expansions for the games they love. While it’s always been a passion project for creators, that’s starting to shift for many of them.
The launch of GGMods will empower creators to earn money from their passions and receive exceptional support to grow their skills. Modding has historically been a springboard for huge successes – for example, the incredibly popular game Counter-Strike 2 started as a mod for Half-Life.
GGMods Puts The Community First With Upcoming Modathon
GGMods is launching with a month-long event called a Modathon to celebrate and support the modding community! From April 13th to May 11th, 2026, mod creators can submit their work, and the most popular mods – those with the most downloads – will win prizes.
Before the Modathon starts, GGMods needs to choose the five games that modders will create content for. Now through April 12th, creators can submit mods for any game they like, and the five games with the most submissions by that date will be included in the Modathon. This will finalize the game list for the Spring event.
Spring Madness Modathon Kicks off April 13
After the five games for the Spring Madness Modathon are chosen and revealed, creators can start submitting their mods for those games. There are many great reasons to participate, but the biggest draw is the chance to win over $7,000 in cash, $1,000 in game gift cards, weekly prizes, and a grand prize for the most popular mod!
How to Enter
The Modathon is for creators who share new mods on GGMods between April 13th and May 11th for eligible games. Participating is simple – just follow these steps:
- Create an account on GGMods.
- Submit a new (previously unpublished) mod, whether original or inspired by the competition’s weekly themes.
- Tag it “Spring Madness 2026 Modathon”
