Intel Promises to Drive South African Tech Into The Future With its Core Ultra 200S Plus CPUs

On May 14th, Intel held an event at Whippet Cafe in Waterfall, Midrand, Johannesburg, to demonstrate their newest processors.

The event featured interactive game demos, impressive PC builds, and valuable networking, clearly demonstrating Intel’s dedication to launching its new processors.

Intel’s new Core Ultra 200S Plus processors offer a great combination of performance and energy efficiency. Frans Pieterse, a director at Intel for South Africa and Turkey, recently discussed how this technology is benefiting both businesses and gamers.

As a tech enthusiast, I’m really excited about the new Core Ultra 200S Plus CPUs! Pieterse is saying they’ve packed in some great stuff, like Thunderbolt 5 and better tools for overclocking. Plus, they’re claiming a performance boost of up to 15% over the previous generation, and the best part? They use a lot less power – up to 58% less energy, which is amazing!

Intel’s latest chips have powerful AI capabilities thanks to a large number of dedicated AI cores. This officially qualifies them as ‘AI PCs’ according to Windows standards, ensuring smooth performance for AI tasks without slowing down the computer.

Intel’s latest CPUs feature a new technology called Intel Binary Optimisation. This software automatically improves performance in popular games, giving you a smoother, faster experience with higher frame rates. It works by optimising game code in real-time.

We teamed up with Gigabyte for the event, where Country Manager Byron Trent explained the company’s approach to designing motherboards for the latest Intel Core Ultra 200S Plus Series CPUs.

Trent explains that these new motherboards are a bit better than previous versions, offering features like stronger PCIe 5.0 slots to support heavier graphics cards, a protective backplate, and easy-to-use SSD installation without tools.

Gigabyte and Rectron presented a range of pre-built PCs demonstrating Intel’s capabilities, alongside PC cases and cooling solutions from AeroCool.
