Kutum Boss Guide in Crimson Desert

Okay, so I found this Kingshield Dig Site, and now I’ve got this quest called “Beneath the Dig Site” that’s forcing me to fight Kutum. Seriously, this guy is tough! He’s some kind of Abyss Creature, and he’s surrounded by these ancient rocks that basically make it impossible to hurt him. I’m talking super hard to even chip away at his health, and forget about inflicting any serious damage or status effects. It’s a real challenge!

Kutum can be a surprisingly easy boss fight if you know the right strategy. The key to defeating him is to use Axiom Force on his eye and remove it. We’ll walk you through the exact steps below.

You can find Kutum at the Kingshield Dig Site, located in the Marshell Estate. This estate is north of the letter ‘D’ in the town of Demeniss.

How to Beat Kutum in Crimson Desert

  • Kutum dives underground, and you’ll need to roll out of the way of the disturbed dirt so that Kutum does not resurface from below your position.
  • When Kutum surfaces, immediately use Axiom Force (L3) and grab the glowing red eye at the top of his body.
  • Hold L2 and Pull with the Right Stick to yank the eye out of Kutum’s head.
  • This will stun Kutum and provide you with a lengthy attack window.
  • The best way to damage Kutum is with R2 attacks, and when your stamina is depleted, spam Turning Slash (R1+R2) and Kutum will eventually die.
  • Once Kutum dies, you will receive the Kutum Shield and an Abyss Artifact. You can also pick up the Power Core dropped by the boss with Axiom Force, and seal it in your Kuku Pot for later upgrades at the Kilnden.

Unlike most boss battles that demand a lot of healing items and Palmar Pills, the Kutum fight is different. You can succeed by simply dodging his slow attacks and waiting for a chance to remove his eye.
