Markiplier’s Iron Lung Movie Hits YouTube Later This Month

Markiplier’s movie, ‘Iron Lung’, based on the horror game, will be available on YouTube on May 31st. This follows a short run in theaters, and means fans who’ve been waiting for a way to watch it online won’t have to wait much longer.

Starting May 31st, you’ll be able to watch the indie horror game Iron Lung on YouTube. Creator Markiplier (Mark Fischbach) previously announced he was working to make the game available digitally, and indicated YouTube was the most likely platform.

During a panel at Cannes, Markiplier announced when the movie would be available online. He also shared that he’s a big supporter of the project.

The official description of the Iron Lung movie reads:

In a future after a mysterious event called The Quiet Rapture wiped out all the stars and habitable planets, a prisoner is tasked with exploring a strange ocean of blood found on a lonely moon. He uses a small submarine called the Iron Lung to do so.

The movie Iron Lung is based on a 2022 indie video game created by David Szymanski, who also made Dusk and Gloomwood. The game gained popularity when Markiplier, a well-known YouTuber, played it on his channel. Being a dedicated fan, Markiplier decided to direct, write, and personally fund a film adaptation.

It’s become a trend for YouTubers to create full-length movies. This year, Chris Stuckmann, a YouTuber known for movie reviews, released the horror film Shelby Oaks. Just recently, Curry Barker wrote and directed another horror movie, Obsession, which has been both critically praised and a commercial success.
