- The purchase brings Strategy’s total holdings to 843,738 BTC, acquired for about $63.867 billion at an average cost of $75,700 per coin.
- This latest acquisition round was funded nearly entirely through sales of the company’s STRC preferred stock.
Strategy recently bought a large amount of bitcoin – 24,869 coins – worth around $2.01 billion. This works out to an average price of $80,985 per coin.
Strategy now holds a total of 843,738 Bitcoin, bringing its total investment to around $64 billion. According to a recent filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the average price Strategy paid for each Bitcoin is $75,700.
Almost all of last week’s purchases were paid for by selling the company’s high-yielding STRC preferred stock. A smaller amount, $83.7 million, came from sales of common stock.
As a researcher tracking market trends, I’m observing that MicroStrategy (MSTR) shares are currently down about 2.5% in premarket trading. This seems to be coinciding with a slight dip in Bitcoin’s price, which is currently around $77,700 – a little lower than where it closed on Friday.
