New Xbox Elite Controller Leaked

Gamers who love high-end hardware, get excited! It looks like Xbox is preparing to reveal the Elite Series 3 controller, and images have already appeared online before their official announcement in June. People have been talking about a new Xbox Elite Series 3 controller for almost a year, with rumors suggesting Xbox has been working on several new controller designs.

I remember when the first Xbox Elite controller dropped back in 2015. It was totally aimed at us ‘elite’ gamers, and it was a big step up from the already great Xbox One controller. It basically brought all the controller mods we hardcore players had been DIY-ing since the 360 days – things like paddles on the back, different D-pads, and swappable sticks – right out of the box, officially. Then, just a few years later, Microsoft released the Elite Series 2. They took everything good about the first one and made it even better with adjustable triggers, tension control on the sticks, and even added Bluetooth. The Elite 2 has been the controller for Xbox ever since, but I started hearing whispers in 2025 that Microsoft was working on some new controllers and hardware for the Xbox Series X and future consoles.

Xbox Elite Series 3 Controller Leaks Online with New Buttons

Just weeks before Xbox’s big game reveal, images and official documents from Brazil’s regulatory agency, Anatel, have leaked, giving fans a complete look at the new Elite Series 3 controller. Tech blog Tecnoblog shared the images, which show a redesigned controller with smoother, rounder edges and a more modern look compared to previous Elite controllers. The leaked images also reveal two scroll wheel buttons on the back and a removable battery – a 1,528 mAh battery, slightly smaller than the 2,050 mAh battery in the Elite Series 2. According to the documentation, a new button on the underside of the controller allows players to easily switch between playing on their console and cloud gaming.

When images of a potential new Xbox Elite Series 3 Controller appeared online, fans immediately started discussing its possible quality. Previous Elite controllers haven’t always been very durable, with common problems like peeling grips, drifting joysticks, and broken buttons. Some controllers even malfunctioned badly when dropped. Fans are hoping the Series 3 addresses these issues and includes features like motion aiming and advanced vibration, similar to the PlayStation DualSense. However, it’s important to remember these images might not be genuine – Xbox hasn’t confirmed anything yet, and we might not see an official reveal until the Xbox Games Showcase in June, if it happens at all.

When the Xbox Elite Series controllers first came out in 2015, they were mainly for serious gamers and cost a significant $199.99, even for the updated Elite 2 model with all the extras. Now, companies like Sony and Valve have entered the market with their own high-end controllers – Sony’s DualSense Edge for PlayStation 5 and the updated Valve Steam Controller. As prices increase and competition grows, it will be interesting to see what new features Xbox brings to the Elite Series 3 Controller, beyond what’s already been revealed.

Xbox is planning a big showcase in June, and recent leaks suggest we’ll see a lot of new things, including potential accessories. We already know the show will feature 30 minutes dedicated to Gears of War: E-Day, and updates are expected for this year’s releases of the Fable reboot from Playground Games and Halo: Campaign Evolved from Halo Studios. These leaks also hint at the possible reveal of the Xbox Elite Series 3 Controller, and perhaps even a first look at Project Helix, if Xbox discusses new hardware during the event.
