Overwatch 2 Fans Should Circle November 17 On Their Calendars

Okay, so Blizzard is finally showing off Hero 45 in Overwatch 2 on November 17th! We’ve been hearing whispers about this character – they’re calling her the “She-Wolf of Retribution” – for months, and it’s awesome that we’re finally going to get the full reveal. I’ve been following all the teasers, and I’m super hyped to see what she can do!

Blizzard introduced Freja and Wuyang (previously known as “Aqua”) as the first new heroes for Overwatch 2 in 2025 during a February event. They also started hinting at a third hero with a subtle cartoon appearance. Over the following months, they continued to tease this new gladiator through hidden clues in the game’s maps, a playful April Fools’ Day announcement, unique sound effects, comics, and most recently, a concealed mask within the Haunted Masquerade event in Overwatch 2.

Overwatch 2 Hero 45 Reveal Coming November 17

The new hero for Overwatch 2, nicknamed the “she-wolf,” will be revealed very soon! Blizzard has announced a trailer will be released on YouTube November 17th at 9 AM Pacific Time / 12 PM Eastern Time. The trailer is expected to showcase everything about the character – how they play, what they look like, and all of their abilities – giving fans a complete look at what to expect.

Okay, so we’re still learning about Hero 45, but things are starting to come together. That shadowy figure with the sword in the “Reconciliation” comic – it definitely looked like the blade from the Arena Victoriae map. And remember that mask from the Haunted Masquerade event? It boosted my speed and damage when I was up close and personal, which makes me think the new hero will have a similar playstyle. We just got Freja, a damage dealer, so a lot of players, myself included, are guessing Hero 45 will probably be a tank. We’ll have to wait and see, but it’s exciting!

The trailer for Hero 45 is coming out next Monday, and players are hoping to see more content soon after, like a cinematic revealing her story and maybe even a new animated comic. These videos will likely be available within the ‘Story’ section of Overwatch 2, which was added in the mid-Season 19 update. Following that, a chance to try out the new hero will probably begin on November 20th, at the same time as the return of Junkrat’s Loot Hunt event.

Players won’t have to wait long to play Hero 45 permanently. Season 20, which introduces her, is scheduled to launch on December 9, shortly after she was revealed. No matter what her abilities are, Hero 45 is sure to have a significant impact on Overwatch 2 when she’s released.
