PlayStation Plus has announced all the games coming to its Essential, Extra, and Premium tiers this month. Plus, there’s an extra free game available in the PlayStation Store! If you’re a fan of classic platformers like Banjo Kazooie and Mario 64, you should download it through PS Plus before it’s no longer free on May 28th at 1:59 AM Central Time (midnight Pacific Time).
The free PlayStation Plus games for May 2026 are now available to download for Essential members: EA Sports FC 26, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, and Nine Sols. More games will be added to the Extra and Premium tiers on May 19th, including Star Wars Outlaws, Red Dead Redemption 2, Bramble: The Mountain King, The Thaumaturge, Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, Broken Sword: Shadows of the Templar – Reforged, Enotria: The Last Song, and Time Crisis (which requires a Premium membership). In addition to these monthly games, PlayStation Plus users sometimes receive extra bonuses, and a new title has just been added as one of those.
PS Plus Users Can Also Download Woodle Tree Adventures for Free
- PS Plus subscribers can download Woodle Tree Adventures for free on the PlayStation Store
- Non-subscribers can purchase it at a steep discount
- This deal expires on May 28 at 1:59 AM CT.
PlayStation Plus members can currently download and play Woodle Tree Adventures. While it looks simple, don’t underestimate it – opinions on this game are really divided, with some people loving it and others disliking it. It’s designed to feel like a classic platformer from the ’90s, prioritizing that old-school style of gameplay. You’ll journey through six different worlds, using magical water to save them. It’s not a very challenging game and offers a relaxed experience, similar to Banjo and Mario 64.

Okay, so this game definitely knows what it’s trying to be, but that’s led to some seriously mixed reactions. Critics haven’t been kind – it’s sitting at a Metascore of 28, which is pretty low. User scores on Metacritic are a little better, around a 5.5, so people are kinda split. But Steam is a different story! It’s got 70% positive reviews, which is a ‘Mostly Positive’ rating from over 1300 people. PlayStation Store is somewhere in the middle, around a 6.5/10. Basically, it’s all over the place. You could end up loving it, or it could be awful – honestly, it feels like it’s anywhere from a 2/10 to a 7/10, depending on who you ask.
Woodle Tree Adventures usually costs between $4 and $5, making it a fairly affordable PlayStation game. However, PS Plus subscribers might prefer to use those funds elsewhere. Luckily, even without PS Plus, you can get the game for a significant discount – 70% off – bringing the price down to just $1.49 during the promotion.

Ultimately, deciding if PS Plus is right for you is a personal choice, but the games available through PS Plus Extra this month are particularly exciting. Each game is excellent, and with the return of Red Dead Redemption 2, there’s a lot to love about the service right now.
