Rocksteady’s Batman Beyond Game Rumours Debunked

Recent rumours suggesting Rocksteady is developing a Batman Beyond game have been proven false. Gaming journalist Jason Schreier, known for his reliable industry sources, has confirmed that the next game from the studio will not be based on the Batman Beyond series, despite claims originating from an online forum.

A detailed post on 4chan claimed that a new Batman game, inspired by Batman Beyond, was in development at Rocksteady. The post said the game would star Terry McGinnis in a futuristic Gotham City and even feature a unique Nemesis system, and it included what looked like early gameplay screenshots. However, it has since been revealed that the entire post was fabricated.

The rumor about a new Batman Beyond game started on the ResetEra forum, but it was quickly dismissed as false by Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier. While many fans have long hoped for a Batman Beyond game, Warner Bros. rarely responds to player requests, making the rumor seem unlikely from the start.

This doesn’t mean Rocksteady has abandoned Batman altogether. In fact, evidence suggests they’re still developing a new Batman game. Job postings and rumors indicate the project is underway and may even be using the Unreal Engine 5.

Following the disappointing launch of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and subsequent layoffs, Rocksteady Studios appears to be refocusing on the qualities that originally brought them success. This could involve developing a new Batman Arkham game, though details are still unclear. We’ll share more information as it becomes available.
