Steam’s Most Popular GPU Is Over Four Years Old

The most popular graphics card among Steam gamers is the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060. This Nvidia GPU was originally released in February 2021 and, as of October 2025, is used by 4.47% of Steam players, according to Steam’s latest hardware survey.

It’s a slight increase from the 4.41% share the card had in September.

In September, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU was the most frequently seen graphics card, but its popularity decreased slightly from 4.84% to 4.30%. Despite this dip, it remained the second most popular card overall.

So, looking at what everyone was playing in October, the RTX 4060 took third place, the RTX 3050 grabbed fourth, and the GTX 1650 rounded out the top five. It’s kinda crazy to think the GTX 1650 came out way back in April 2019 – that’s six years ago! Even the GTX 1060, which Nvidia said they’re no longer supporting, still has almost 2% of the market. It just shows how long some cards stay relevant, you know?

As a PC enthusiast, it’s interesting to see where AMD and Intel stand compared to Nvidia. If you’re not considering Nvidia, you have to scroll down quite a bit to find AMD Radeon Graphics – they’re ninth on the list! And Intel’s Iris Xe Graphics only has a small share, appearing way down at number fifteen. It really shows Nvidia’s dominance in the graphics card market right now.
