Okay, let’s just say it: Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004 isn’t just a fantastic golf game, it’s honestly one of the best sports games ever. It doesn’t look super fancy by today’s standards (though it still holds up, honestly!), but what it lacks in graphics, it more than makes up for with gameplay that just feels perfect. Everything is so well balanced, it’s just a blast to play.
PGA Tour 2004 really struck a great balance between feeling like real golf and being fun to play, and it established a high bar for the genre that many games still try to reach. It features realistic physics, responsive controls, and a great soundtrack. It was even recognized with a Game Award nomination years ago.
The best part of this game is definitely playing with others. Originally released for the PS Vita, Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational is now available on PS3 with a PlayStation Plus Premium subscription. It offers a fantastic multiplayer experience with silly lobby interactions, lots of ways to customize your character, and fast, easy ways to start a match – it’s hard to beat!
PGA Tour 2K25
The New Hotness
Ultimately, if you’re looking for the best golf game available, you can’t go wrong with PGA Tour 2K25. The PGA 2K series comes out every other year, making this the newest version, and it’s currently the most advanced golf game on the market.
While EA Sports PGA Tour looks and sounds great, PGA Tour 2K25 excels with its more realistic swing controls and deep character customization – it almost feels like a simplified role-playing game. The MyCareer mode is also very comprehensive, offering lots of ways to tailor your experience and a massive selection of professional golfers to play against. It might be a bit challenging for beginners, but dedicated golf fans will find this a detailed and immersive simulation they can really lose themselves in.

While it might not be as widely known as games like Tiger Woods PGA Tour, Links 2003 remains a highly respected classic golf simulation.
