The creators of The Sims 4 recently held a livestream to show off many new features coming in the Adventure Awaits expansion pack. This expansion has been highly anticipated since it was first announced in early September. Following a preview of upcoming plans, EA officially revealed Adventure Awaits, giving fans a detailed look through a blog post and trailer.
Next, viewers watched a gameplay trailer showcasing the new features in *The Sims 4: Adventure Awaits*. Immediately after, the Forever Friends event began. This event was designed to build excitement for the new pack, reveal some of its backstory, and reward players with free items for participating.

I was so excited for this new pack for *The Sims 4*, even though the teasers and trailers already showed us a lot! Everyone was really hoping for custom venues and imaginary friends, and thankfully, the developers delivered! They did a whole livestream on September 25th, and it was amazing. We got to see everything in detail – new skills, traits, characters, and all the cool stuff you can get. I was especially thrilled to see how the Critter Hunter aspiration works, and how we can finally build our own venues and plan getaways. Plus, they showed us how we’ll be able to create custom playgrounds with all sorts of modular pieces like slides and platforms – it’s going to be so much fun!
A key feature showcased was imaginary friends, which are returning to *The Sims 4* after first appearing in *The Sims 3*. Children can now transform their stuffed animals into these imaginary companions. The ‘Adventure Awaits’ expansion pack introduces a variety of imaginary friends, each with unique personalities and requirements that must be met before they can come to life.
Many players are excited about the new Papercraft Skill, which lets Sims create origami and paper mache decorations for their homes or to give as gifts. The livestream showcased a variety of activities players can enjoy in the game’s customizable spaces, including crafting, making smoothies, and participating in competitions. The hour-and-a-half stream highlighted many upcoming features, but the developers intentionally left some surprises for players to discover when the Adventure Awaits expansion pack releases on October 2nd.
