Bloom is a frequently debated feature in Battlefield 6 that impacts aiming and hitting your targets. If you’re struggling to land shots, or simply want to understand how Bloom works, this guide will explain everything you need to know.
Battlefield 6’s online multiplayer is mostly well-received, and a major reason why the game sold over 6.5 million copies in its first week. However, a persistent issue – bloom – has been present since launch and is one of the few downsides to the multiplayer experience.
So, if you’re like me and running into this issue, or you’ve just heard people talking about it, let me give you the latest info on what EA is doing to fix it and what exactly it even *is*.
What is Bloom in Battlefield 6?

Bloom causes bullets to deviate from where you’re aiming, adding an element of randomness to shooting.
Imagine you’re aiming with a precise scope on your rifle. You’d naturally expect every bullet to hit exactly where the scope is pointed. However, a feature called ‘Bloom’ introduces randomness. This means even if you fire a full magazine, the game might slightly alter where some of the bullets actually land, causing them to deviate from your intended target.
It’s frustrating to lose a gunfight when you feel you should have won, especially because of unpredictable elements like Bloom. Sometimes, you’re just one bullet away from victory, but Bloom causes your shot to veer off course, giving your opponent a chance to strike first.

When Is Bloom Being Fixed in Battlefield 6?
Florian Le Bihan, a lead designer on the next Battlefield game, has shared that the developers are currently refining bullet spread (dispersion) and the visual effect known as ‘bloom.’ However, they aren’t planning to completely eliminate these features from the game.
After seeing a post on TacticalBrit X demonstrating Bloom’s visual effects, Le Bihan responded to a comment discussing a bug related to Bloom in the beta version.
We’ve resolved the original Beta bug, but discovered two new issues affecting weapon spread (dispersion/bloom). These new issues can cause weapons to spread more than intended. Our team is currently working on a fix and also reviewing the overall balance of weapon spread.
We’re addressing issues with Bloom and the inconsistent behavior of some guns. However, it seems like Bloom is a permanent feature, and we’re focusing on refining it rather than removing it.
We’re still working on improving both Dispersion and Bloom, and there are no plans to remove Bloom entirely. You’ll likely need to adjust to how it currently works. We don’t have a timeframe for when the fixes for these issues will be released, but we’re monitoring official Battlefield channels for updates.
