As a big fan of Subnautica, I’m really excited about the crafting in the new game! Silver is super important because you need it to build the Wakemaker, which lets you zip around the ocean much faster. But honestly, finding Silver can be a real pain – it doesn’t seem to show up very often unless you get lucky!
This ore is found in just one type of environment, and always in the same place within the game world. It’s easy to overlook if you’re not careful. Here’s where to look.
Where to Find Silver in Subnautica 2
Silver Location
Okay, so I figured out where to find Silver in Subnautica 2! It’s in these cave formations about 200 meters north of your Lifepod. Basically, you want to stand facing the Lifepod, then spin around until your compass is pointing somewhere between North and the 345 marker – that’s where you’ll find them, just like in the screenshot.
Swim directly forward for 200 meters, then look down. You should see some small silver ore deposits close to the orange-brown, ball-shaped plants called Pent, which grow in groups.
Right beside the pen, you’ll find a cave entrance leading further into the ocean. Inside, the cave is lit by glowing, light green flowers with pink centers, and is also home to large Cabbage Shootroots – flowers that look like cabbages with bright pink centers.
This cave and others nearby contain a lot of Silver ore. You can easily find these caves by looking for orange-colored pent growing around the entrance – it’s a strong sign that Silver ore is inside.
Types of Silver Deposits
There are two types of Silver deposits in Subnautica 2 that I’ve discovered so far:

There are probably significant silver deposits, similar to other metals. However, I haven’t discovered any during my searches yet.
Scanner Station
The Scanner Station is a base module you can unlock to easily locate resources within a 300-meter radius. Once unlocked, it makes finding ores – like Silver – much simpler.
