Xbox Game Pass now includes the first-person shooter Luna Abyss. This addition marks the 13th new game to be added to the service this May, and the 85th new title available on Xbox Game Pass so far in 2026.
Luna Abyss is a single-player first-person shooter created by Kwalee, the British studio recently known for their open-world police game, The Precinct. The game takes place inside a decaying alien structure, and you play as a prisoner forced to explore its underground ruins. You’ll be searching for lost technology and clues about the civilization that once lived there. Expect a fast-paced experience with lots of shooting and platforming, all wrapped up in a sci-fi story.
Luna Abyss Lands on Xbox Game Pass with Positive Reviews
The sci-fi first-person shooter, Luna Abyss, released on May 21st at 9 a.m. Eastern Time for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. It’s also now available as part of Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass Ultimate. Players can still try the original Luna Abyss demo from July 2023, which received positive feedback on Steam. The full game has been well-received too, currently holding a ‘Strong’ rating on OpenCritic with an average score of 78 and an 85% recommendation rate.
Based on reviews tracked by OpenCritic, Luna Abyss is seen as a visually appealing, short, and unique game. While the shooting isn’t always perfect, the game’s atmosphere and boss battles are highlights. Critics generally agree it’s a strong and memorable indie shooter, rather than a groundbreaking title, and its distinctive, claustrophobic prison-moon setting really brings the world to life.
